WotLK If you mine items from veins, and keep others, will the vein won't respawn?

I've been looking for mithril veins, and while I found alot, all of them have only Solid Stone in them without any mithril ore.
Does it mean someone mined them recently without taking the stones out, or it can be someone did it yesterday and they didn't respawn cuz the stones were still in the veins?

It can be both, if you don't mine out everything I think they don't respawn. People rarely do that but what it does is reduce the amount of mithril in circulation (because others are mining leftovers) so it gets more expensive on AH.
