1. Opposite faction mounts from store?

Hello, I recently donated for the first time and was looking at the Store and Trade sections to see what I can do with my coins.
I notice if I select my expansion, server, and character (a tauren on Lordaeron), I see all of the alliance faction mounts available as options to purchase.
Does this mean that I am able to bypass the faction/race/rep requirements and am eligible to obtain and use them as horde? Or would the coins just get thrown away or such a purchase be blocked from going through?
I would expect that I'm NOT able to obtain/use these mounts, and that the shop simply hasn't been designed to filter out this type of thing, but I would love to use a certain mount if I am indeed able to obtain and use it. Thanks!

  2. you will not be able to learn the mount
example: http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/item=49096 (only the races displayed on tooltip can learn this mount)

  3. you will not be able to learn the mount

Thank you for your reply. I see that some mounts have an alliance or horde symbol next to them or show text when you mouseover saying specific races that are allowed to use it, such as what you linked. Most of the basic faction mounts lack this though. There isn't any indication of restrictions on something such as Reins of the Spotted Frostsaber, Great Blue Elekk, etc, so I wasn't sure if they fell under the same restrictions anyway.

  4. if mouseovering on those mount does not work, you can manually check them here:
http://wotlk.cavernoftime.com/ -> Type "Reins of the Spotted Frostsaber" on search box

  5. I see now. I was almost certain this would be the case, but would have enjoyed the humor of my tauren riding around on an elekk. Thanks again!
