WotLK Jewelcrafting's epic/meta gem class usage chart

Hello,

If you ever wondered which JC recipe to buy first in order to better optimize your gems selling game, fear no more, i will make you save A LOT of time.

STEP 1(gemlist boolean filter):
From warcraftTavern's gemlist were taken all epic gems and all metas.
From it all the gems that appear in all PVE spec builds for all classes were selected.
I made a bell sorting of all the selected gems' based on the % tat they occupy amongst the total number of specs[fig1].
Each spec has also been assigned a popularity score from 0 to 1 based on current RAID compos and general usage of that spec in the Warmane community.

STEP 2(the most tedious one):
The selected gems were weighted against the relative spec's BIS build and the amount, color and rules of the build's available slots.

- WarcraftTaven's and warmane forum's guides(if available) for each class for gemming
- Meta requirements(if no nightmare's tear)
- Socket bonuses rules satisfaction amongst the BIS build's pieces

Were all taken into account to consider the best slot color distribution for each spec in each class. A table has then been made with all the BIS color distribution.

The boolean filter was then weighted by multiplying each occurrence of a gem in the filter by the matching color and spec multiplier in the table.
The result is a list with all the amounts of slots that each gem occupies across the total number of slots across all specs and classes, which has then been also bell sorted.

Any spec that uses more than one gem of a color has been assigned a value that is an average of the total value for a single gem.
(EXAMPLE: a cat druid uses 4 different kind of orange gems, a cat dudu BIS slot composition has 9 orange gems slots so each gem is assigned a 9/4 value of 2.25.) i know it's not perfect but taking into account the best kind of gem for each color and the proportions amongst them would have been impossible.

Total number of JC recipes (not accounting for Dragon's eyes and stormjewels): 98
Total number of recipes to cover all the PVE market: 27.
Total number to cover the most marketshare(used in more than 8 slots accross all specs/classes): 10.
