He means, what you are basically asking is for a free handout. To make content easier/less rng/customized just so you can grab gear quickly. This was one of those things that was dumbed down by Blizzard in future xpacs, so many people who come to Warmane/WoTLK servers specifically want to avoid this kind of thing here. Ergo he said it was a dumb suggestion.
