WotLK A character name

Hey, so there's a character already made with a name that I want to name my next character with, but the character with the name seems inactive and is only a lvl 7 one, the name actually means something to me and its that it was a character name on the 1st ever MMORPG game that I played on back in the day, actually the 1st game that I've ever played, so if there is a way to remove that inactive character so I can name mine, it would be greately appreciated, Thank you!

We don't do something like that on request. We do semi-regular clean ups which remove names from inactive characters. The last one happened on February 2021 and affected characters that hadn't been used since January 2020, for you to have an idea how it works.

So they don't happen all the time, can easily not affect a specific character (like if they were created or logged in even once during the inactivity period) and there's always the risk someone else will want the same name and take it before you do, in case the character is affected. You can wait for the next clean up if you prefer, but in general it might be simpler to just think of a different name or a variation than wait for something that isn't reliable (or meant to be).
