1. Are we allowed to run low level players through dungeons?

I went to go run a couple guildies through Stockades today, and there was room in the party, so I did a /yell asking if anyone else wanted to join.

Quickly, two people whispered me saying 'if you get reported you'll get banned', telling me running lowbies through dungeons is against Warmane TOS.

For the record, I didn't go through with it. I don't want to get banned... but I've seen tons of people doing it, and was ran through Stockades and SM myself when I first started a few days ago.

I had no idea, and just want to confirm everything.

Someone in guild said it's only bannable if you're selling a boost service? But I definitely wasn't looking for payment. Just wanted to help people out. I personally hate the paid boosting service that plagues retail servers.

So I just want some official answers at this point. Seems harmless to me to run a few guildies through a low level instance, I mean the server even has increased XP to begin with.

But I don't want to assume and then end up losing my account.

    Cheers!

  2. As far as I know, boosting in Arena and bringing low characters to high level zones to boost them is against the rules.

But just running low levels trough dungeons is a normal part of the game, without any shady stuff like tagging, then leaving party, etc.

You might want to inspect rules section, there is paragraph about this. Or make ingame ticket to be sure.

  3. It shouldnt be illegal. Its forbidden to boost them in the zones where they see "skulls" instead of mobs actual level

  4. Do players even receive experience for killing a skull mob, even if they do it alone? I remember having read that they shouldn't, but now I'm not sure if it was here, in blizzard's classic or retail, or wherever.

  5. As long as the alts are level appropriate to dungeons/zones and it's within the party, it's fine.

Level 20 tapping level 40 mobs and out of party level 80 killing the mobs isn't allowed.
Level 80 killing mobs that aren't marked with skull in the same party for the level 20 player is allowed.

I don't know if buying/selling boosts (or carries for titles, gear/items, or achievements) is allowed. Feels like it's in grey area.

It was here. Low levels players don't get XP anymore from boss level enemies.

  7. "Powerleveling (to bring a low level char to a high level zone to rush its leveling)."

I guess this is part of the rule.

Never thought this would of been a rule tbf, this sounds insane to me that part of the game is considering an exploit.

  8. There used to be exploit, where you could tag high lvl mob(s) with low lvl and get full xp if someone killed them. -- Patched.
Boosting dungeons is ok. Selling dungeon boost is kinda meh, community looks down on it. But free boost in dungeon is ok as far as i know.
"Powerlvling" alts with other account in dungeon is another thing, and thats on gray area.

  9. I don't understand why anyone cares. Powerleveling is the benefit of having or knowing an 80 to help you (for free or gold). In no possible way do I see this as any kind of exploit, nor do I see how it negatively effects anyone else. Can someone intelligently explain for my sanity?

    1. Plenty of people got scammed through it, either by giving away account info to the booster so he does it alone or by lowbies actually not paying the gold to the booster.
    2. Your level one character got dragged to Northrend and gained 10 levels instantly by killing one mob. Don't see anything wrong with that? That was ofcourse before measures against it were introduced.

  11. Thanks for taking the time to explain. Just curious, was this kind of powerleveling forbidden on retail WOTLK?
