WotLK Unable to Validate game Version Error

I play on a 2017 MacBook Pro. I downloaded the game through the torrent and upon receiving the Cannot upon application I inputed the Chmod command into my terminal as instructed which ultimately worked for me three days ago.
I have been trying to log into the client today and yesterday and it says "Unable to validate a game version. This may be caused by file corruption or the interface of another program"
I deleted and redownloaded the game twice as well as bit torrent, reran that Chmod into the terminal again and still the same Validate game version error.
I am confused on why everything was working at first but not anymore. Anyone else struggling with this or have a potential solution?

a friend of mine also had this happen.

The strange thing is just like you it was working 2 days ago, and only broke yesterday. redownloading and cmd lines dont help.

unfortunately no solution in the thread yesterday and my friend hasn't figured it out - but you aren't the only one and it seems to be an issue for Mac players

It appears the Mac option for which client to download has been removed

I had the exact same problem. I started playing Friday and then some Saturday till suddenly at night I tried to start again it started saying all that about “unable to validate game version”. I redownloaded and and did chmod and still nothing. I also have an Mac but an old OS. This seems to have happened to a few people so it would be nice if someone had any idea what’s going on
