Technical How does queue skipping work?

Hi, I would like to be able to skip the queue on Frostmourne, and I noticed that that might be achieved with donations.

But how does it work? Skipping the queue consumes coins, or is it a one-time payment and I get to skip the queue forever?

As perk for being premium you automatically skip the queue. (so you do not need to spend any coins)
