Hello, everyone! I'm not just new to this server, but new to WoW. I think i have around 200-250 hours.
Right now I play on Icecrown and i'm getting killed for like 30-45minutes by the same characters. they just sit around the area i'm in and kill everyone.
I was wondering, are there any kind of rules to prevent this(nothing about this in the rules i've read), or this is just the way the game is intended to be played? It seems strange to me for people to play like this. Right now i'm fortunate to watch a football game so i don't really mind it, i respawn and get killed and repeat the process but I wouldn't have any desire to play after 2-3 kills in a row on a normal session.
It's an artefact from ancient times, when things were made to spark conversations and conflicts, which lead to great times in this sandbox. It's quite the contrast with modern games, where your psychology is researched, they will push you in and out, you don't have to even sweat - it's perfectly streamlined pleasant experience. Things like "this dude will not let me go there" is like the end of the world these days. It's normal, it's how it's supposed to be. Get some friends, go another zone, take a pause, be sneaky. Respawning for 45mins like an npc is actually pretty funny tbh

Why do you subject yourself to being ganked? What's your goal getting killed him repeatedly so many times? Go to another zone and level. If he follows, logout and do something else e.g. play other game, or other character, watch some shows or streams.
