It seems to be set to 40 yards by default, and no addon I can find allows for an option to change it.

Is that baked into the client? Coming off of retail, I can say with confidence that having the ability to see enemy nameplates as soon as the arena doors open is a giant benefit. Also nice when they don't disappear while running away and still in range for flame shock and the likes.

While we're on this topic, it would be great to see enemy specs on Gladius from the waiting room so we can strategize in advance, but that's just a sidenote. The ability to fade out said nameplates when a certain range away / out of LoS should replace this presumed-to-be artifical limitation.
