Which is better? I want to like & understand Auctioneer and I might be not using it right but here are my comparisons on what I like & don't like:
Auctionator: Simplifies basic auction house tasks. It makes searching, buying, & selling easier. That's all it does. In regards to what's cheap and what to sell/buy I need to use my eyes & brain. There is this good mini history keeper in the "Buy" tab so I can just click click click to search for items I've searched before instead of having to type it out manually. I can click on some random's auction and my price will automatically be lower than theirs. Cancelling my auctions is simple. I just go click 1 button and all stacks of that one item is cancelled.
Auctioneer: A lot of the features are dependant on fully scanning the AH (takes an hour, cheap things can just dissapear in an hour). If I put things on the "Post" tab it still shows stale (1 hour old) pricing data, and the prices don't change automatically, I still need to type it in myself. Pricing setting is pretty much worthless aside from market price, I mean I can just use my eyes & brain to figure out market price but the UI clutter is making it very hard to do something so simple, and the prices not changing no matter whose auction I click makes that worse. If I go on "Search" tab and search by "Resale" it would tell me what to buy/bid because I will make 500 gold or 1000 gold profit. I saw some items that cost 500 gold would make me 500 gold profit because market price is 1000 gold but when I searched manually using the search bar none of the items are even 600 gold?? From where did it get this data from, last year? I also saw some epics like belt of the lonely noble (70g) would make me 70g profit....I'm just going to guess because it says disenchant value is 140 gold.....but right now abyss crystals are like 77 gold so how did it get that number?? Also for times I think the market price is working well it seems destroyed by how at the bottom there are many people selling stuff for like 2000 gold even though on top it's all just 200 gold. It's making me think the market price feature is not smart? What math is it trying to go by, can I tweak it myself? Some good things about it I like are how it shows how many people has seen certain auctions, and how it knows if certain items I can just buy from vendors for cheaper. I get how all these features look fancy but to me they don't even work well. I can't even cancel auctions easy, I need to go find them on Blizzard's default auctions tab & click on it one by one.
Anyway I'm thinking Auctionator + a little notepad & a pencil is pretty much superior so I can keep track of what I like to buy & sell. Or am I blind here, technologically incompetent? How do you geniuses use Auctioneer?
Which one to choose depends on what you from AH. As for me, I use both of them. Basically the Auctioneer and occasionally the Auctionator.
If you just sell crafted items and if all you want from an addon is to undercut the minimum price, then your choice is the Auctionator. The main feature I found in this one is the function to cancel in one click all your own auctions, which are not at the minimum price at the moment. I used it to sell enchanted scrolls in that way. The key point here is to know the market value of the items you are selling.
Auctioneer has a wide range of options. There is no point in describing them here. It would be better to read guides. All I want to add is that auctioneer trading takes a lot of time. I use it to earn gold when I get tired of the game itself. And about the market price. I think there is a feature of private servers with items from the air, gold squish events and other things which may cause rapid price fluctuations. And it forces you to use your brain, blind faith in market value may cause financial failures

Are you seriously enjoying Auctioneer? If so then I also need to understand what's good about it :( maybe with tweaking settings many bad things will be good but I've been studying it and cannot make it better. I mean I'm not an undercutting maniac. Like I just cancel when I know it's good to cancel. Some of my items even if it's buried deep I can leave em, I don't care, because it will probably still sell tomorrow or something. Like if Auctioneer can change my prices automatically depending on whose auctions I click, can cancel whole stacks with 1 button, the Search by Resale feature works well, it would be the best auction addon ever. Also if it sorts auctions tidy like Auctionator (it can shrink 5 pages worth of single stack items from 1 seller into just 1 line lol, whereas Auctioneer needs me to stare at pages & pages of nonsense). Reading "120 stacks of 1 - Saronite Bar" is so much better than scrolling through 5 pages of just:
Saronite Bar
Saronite Bar
Saronite Bar
Saronite Bar
Saronite Bar
Saronite Bar
.....
and so on
Hi, I'm sorry for the delay with the answer. I can't tell you now how to earn with auctioneer. So I insist on reading the addon guides. There are many ways to earn with this addon and my English is not enough to describe all this stuff briefly. Maybe later I can leave some pieces of advice here. And for now I want to suggest you to make getall scan once a day to prepare prices database
Is there an auction addon that has auto post feature thats working? Like, i dont have to click on 200 item individually in my inventory when i want to post them?
holy shet dude after about 2 weeks of digging through settings I have deduced market price is unreliable because of that one guy keeps posting 200g items for like 5000 gold at the bottom. Can't go with % of buyout too because of those little ninjas posting for like 5 gold lolz. Gotta always use my eyes for this
