1. Discrimination bans for enforcing a common language in guild?

Why is it not allowed to advertise your guild as English-Only?
or was this 1 day discrimination ban just flat out inaccurate or wrong?

Perhaps this was because they thought it was british only and not english-speaking language?

I've never discriminated against anyone on this server and just got hit with one of these. I'm questioning why, especially since I've banned many people from our guild for this exact reason (For their racism/discrimination).

  2. I doubt having an English-only guild would get anyone a discrimination ban by itself.
On the other hand, how you advertised that could easily fit the bill. Just conjecturing here, assuming your own assumption is correct, but if you were a douchebag about why you only accept that language, I could see it happening.

Either way, it could be for anything else you said, even something that was "just a joke," that someone screenshot and reported, but you aren't going to receive any specifics on bans in the Forum.

Thanks for some insight obnoxious, you're always a great help.
This sucks though, the ban is for a day but on reset and on our guild's core raid which I'm supposed to lead, and while I'm sure the ban appeal will go well, most of the time it takes longer than a day to get a reply :/

  4. Yes, with a ban that short, instead of counting on a ban appeal, you're better off sucking it up and arranging with your guild to reschedule or have someone else lead this time.

It kinda makes me worriesome that if I can get a day ban for something like this what happens next time someone who doesn't like me reports me, will I get an even longer ban that'll go unchanged?

This isn't the first time I was falsely reported. I was banned for 3 days 12 hours for out of game trading when I was selling gold for coin in the warmane marketplace, when my in-game text clearly was stating I was using the warmane trade market, I still was banned for half a week and it was revoked. Just sucks getting banned again like this.

Yes, repeated bans for the same offense usually carry longer punishments each time. But someone can only report you for something you do.

Are you sure the ban was revoked? On just about every case I hear about, the ban is pardoned, i.e. you are given a second chance and allowed to go back to playing, but the ban stays registered and is taken into account if it happens again.

Sometimes it's a first time for an otherwise good player, or the player truly seems to regret it or have been unaware, or the player is given the benefit of the doubt (like if what was reported could be interpreted in different ways), and Support gives a chance, but it doesn't mean it was a false report.

If your gold selling advertisement wasn't as clear as you make it sound, or if even once in a whisper you didn't mention it, that would give someone enough evidence. For anything that skirts very close to breaking a rule you have to be extra careful. Some people will abuse a badly-written post, but there's no way for GMs to know which is which, so it's on you to make sure to never leave room for someone to exploit it.

I was reported for coin selling, which i did not do and suffered 3.5 days of a ban that was "lifted" as GM smyth stated when he handled it back in 2019.

Yeah was revoked from what I could tell.

I've been reported hundreds of times if not thousands for ninja looting, racism, etc by many, many people since then and not once has a ban gone through until now which is why I'm so suprised by this.
The GMs usually handle things perfectly and I don't tend to worry about threats of reports cause I had faith in the GMs 100%. That's why I wanted to know why I was banned, what I said, etc.

Lifted just means the ban time was removed, it doesn't mean or imply anything else like that the ban was considered a mistake.

So the GMs handled things perfectly "hundreds, if not thousands of times," but that's only valid until you get punished?

You might want to take a step back and tone down that self-image. Perhaps you behave differently in-game than you do on the Forums, I don't know, but if I was to base it on what I've seen in your posts and topics, it's no stretch for me to picture there being a reason for the ban somewhere, as you're no role model of respecting all rules here.

The word "reported" on chat is pretty much empty threat. Nobody can do report in that time when it's usually spewed out. Probably getting reported with dismissable evidence on top of it, e.g. cropped screenshot.

Gotta be careful with what comes to character, gold and any other sale advertised through Warmane trade section. Way too many people are selling "(this) account" and doesn't understand the major difference between a character and an account.

It's just wise to always specify "Warmane trade", so things can't be taken out of context. It should/could also clarify the intent. "Selling an account" is vastly different from "Selling an account via Warmane trade", where "via Warmane trade" clarifies it's not 3rd party trade, thus the "account" is most likely intended to mean a character. Same goes for "Selling gold for coins.. via Warmane trade".

Yeah it was 2019 and I was doing "WTS x coins for x gold on warmane trade" and still got banned during that time.

This time I am just frustrated why I'm banned for. I'd love to see the logs and see me spamming a bunch of absolute giga-rude racist bs and be like "well poop, yep I deserve the ban" but sitting here with no information about why I was banned except 1 word "discrimination" it's really frustrating. Especially when I actively fight against discrimination.

It is what it is though, guess I deserve it for being a guild leader. Only thing I can think of is not allowing non-english speakers in our guild or requiring people speak english to join our raids.

I think you know, but just in case... it isn't about amount or spamming.
You do it once and get reported for that once, it's a done deal.
