This question has come up on various forum, but I was unable to find a definite solution:
Instead of 60hz - which my monitor supports and which is also the current windows 10 setting - I only get 50hz as an option.
I tried:
- resetting video options to default - didn't work
- switching between various modes (fullscreen, windowed fullscreen) - didn't work
- add "SET gxRefresh "60"" to config.wtf - didn't work
- switching between various compatibility modes (windows 7, windows XP SP2) - didn't work
- deactivating "full screen optimization" - didn't work
Even weirder is that I had 59 as an option before trying to fix it, but that one has vanished as well.
If you play in windowed or windowed fullscreen modes it doesn't matter what refresh rate you set because you will play at the refresh rate of the desktop which should be 60.
It is 60 fps, but that doesn't fix the hardware-recognition issue. You could say it's fine then, but maybe it isn't.
I did have 60 FPS and 59 FPS as options in the past, so apparently something isn't configured correctly.
Yes, even a rug can be a flying carpet, but I prefer my system to be working without such internal conflicts.
Besides that, it's not about my personal motives. It's a technical support issue that can either be solved or not.
