What mats specifically does 1-450 Engineering require?

I'm putting away 8 stacks of ingots and stones per tier of resource to give to my Shaman alt, once he maxes out Alchemy and can drop Herbalism and swap to Engineering. All 7 of my Netherweave Bags in my Bank are filled to capacity with various Mining resources.

To be precise, I have exactly160 Ingots of: Copper, Tin, Iron, Mithril, Thorium, Fel Iron, Adamantite, Cobalt and Saronite
And also 160 of: Rough, Coarse, Heavy, Solid, and Dense Stones

Is that enough for 1-450 Engineering? Do I need Bronze and/or Steel too, or can I skip them?

You do need bronze and steel. You'll also need gold, silver and truesilver. There is detailed guide for engineering x3 on forum

    Eh, was worried about that.

Starting to wonder if Engineering is even worth taking on a Shaman. The plan was to level my Shaman with Skinning and Leatherworking to 450, amass the Engineering mats on my Pally, then once I have enough, drop Skinning and take Engineering, and then drop Mining on the Pally and take Enchanting.

I tried to message you to give you the list of exact items you'd need but it says you can't get messages

Replying to an old post but in-case anyone else reads this in the future, Eng is the best profession for any class. If you care about performing realistically all your character should have Eng/X
