Hi all, new to Warmane and this is my first post - if it's in the wrong place, please let me know or move it as required.
I'm on Lordaeron and ran Wailing Caverns solo to try and get some decent gear for my 19 Druid. On reaching Lord Serpentis (the last Druid boss before Verdan the giant elemental boss) I found myself unable to kill him because he had an instant cast heal that I couldn't interrupt, and without being able to stop him healing I couldn't get him down fast enough with my meagre Bear dps; I could run him out of mana by just healing through his lightning attack, but then by the time I had ground him down to 50% health he had regen'd enough to cast his instant heal, and that would continue in an endless cycle: down to 50%, instant heal, repeat, with him unable to kill me and me unable to kill him.
All of the other druid bosses have a 'normal' Healing Touch heal which can be interrupted, after which they don't cast it again for a while, providing a window to kill them off. On researching Serpentis (admittedly on sites dedicated to Classic or original WotLK), every site described Serpentis as also having an interruptible 'cast time' heal.
My question is: are there differences between the mechanics of certain mobs/bosses/instances between Warmane Lordaeron and original WotLK (beside the advertised buff to raid bosses' hp etc. to increase raid difficulty)? If Serpentis was using an instant heal, was this a bug in my particular instance, a general bug on Warmane/Lordaeron, or a known change made for some reason (possibly to make him more difficult to kill/solo)?
If there are changes to any of the mechanics between Warmane and original WotLK besides those advertised, is there any site on which I can find the Warmane versions of mobs/dungeons/abilities?
Thanks is advance for your assistance, and apologies for the long-winded post, but I thought I'd set the scene in case it rang a bell for anyone else and they could confirm whether they’d experienced his instant heal or not.
Yeah, I don't want to clutter the bug-reporting system by reporting something that's not actually a bug, so I'm wondering if anyone can confidently say either:
a) If a site like WoWHead has a boss’s abilities listed, that's how it should be in-game on Warmane servers, therefore any divergence is a reportable bug;
b) Sites like WoWHead definitely can't be trusted, because there are things that are different between Warmane and the orginal Blizz servers, and therefore this might be working as intended.
If b) is true, it would also be handy if someone knows, in the specific case of Lord Serpentis’s instant-cast heal, if that is working as intended, or still actually a bug.
sites like WoWhead are good sources, as long as they refer to the original version and not some later expansion or changes which blizzard did to their wotlk classic
