Battered Hilt

I already managed to do the Battered Hilt quest once.
I was told by Global that the Battered Hilt cannot respawn as a loot.
But my question is: if I buy the Battered Hilt through auction or through warmane's page, will I be able to do the mission again?
I don't think so, but I have to ask.

Can't do the quest again on same char.
Why would you want to do it again? If you want other reward, I'd check if you can buy the reward.

I did this many years ago so I dont know if it still works the same but, yes you can have the Battered Hillt quest item on you if someone trades it to you (so you can probably buy it too yes) and you can use it and get the first quest to turn it in, but after you turn it in to the npc in icecrown he does not give you anymore quests, since you compleated the chain before. And the achievement is only on last quest. So yeah, that was a bummer.

You can't change the reward. Your only option, if available, is buying it from the store. But if you are going to buy it from the store you may as well get a better weapon...
