WotLK Old molten accounts/toons

Hello. So for nearly a decade now i didnt even think of having my old molten geared toons back as i thought that the old DB was lost until today.
While running outside orgrimar i saw this warlock with arena master title. I just had to inspect him and i saw some interesting things. His achievements were before warmane era, AKA old molten. So whats the catch? Is this guy cheating in some sort of way or is it possible to retrieve your old toons back from the day?

It's from Arena Tournament, not from Molten.

That raises even more questions.
1. What is AT toon doing in Icecrown of warmane?
2. Did all AT toons were transferred, if so why cant i access mine which i had back in day.
3. Was there official communication in transfering toons from AT to icecrown ?
4. IF its AT toon, shouldnt it be on Blackrock instead rather than icecrown?

If I remember correctly, AT Cataclysm characters were transferred to Warmane Cataclysm realm and then could be transferred to Icecrown when the Cataclysm realm got closed.

Cause i did find people wanted this to be the case - to keep their cata accs, but no official statement from the staff that its possible.

Just one more interesting fact. The cata realm was already on warmane wasnt it? Why the dates are before warmane was born then ?

Because AT Cata characters were transferred to Warsong realm on Molten/Warmane (a few months before the name change to Warmane). So the characters were initially created on AT.

Yes i get that. But it wasnt just name rebranding from molten to warmane. Molten DB was stolen by former dev and he opened his own private server trying to lure molten players there with their old accs. Then Molten rebranded to Warmane. And they didnt get the old DB back. They had to start fresh. Giving people who had accounts some coins, lvl 80 and some starter gear (furious, t9). So how come, some of the data was available?

AT and Molten merged after that, not before.
