New player

hello, first of all sorry for wasting your time,.

I am a new player to this game (wow), but I have a few problems, I can't decide which server is best for new players, specifically for f2p players?

and is there a good source for me to learn about basic tutorials, or game fundamentals?

For the server I'm entirely sure what to suggest you. At one hand you have Icecrown and Lordaeron servers where a lot of the players is max lvl, have their best in slot items and have multiple characters. There is no progression if you don't make it yourself somehow (content is the same and you repeat it with your characters). On the other hand you have Onyxia which is progression-realm server. That means the game content will change eventually after time. The server will progress into 2 different game expansions.

Couple of things to consider:
- Population is not that big as the other two servers
- At this moment, maybe half of the players there are max level and waiting for the first expansion to came out (there are still players who playing, raiding, leveling and so on ...)
- You will see a lot of boosting services offers. Which can skip you a big part of the game. If you want to learn and enjoy the game just don't take them and play alone or with your friends
- The progression-realm maybe is the best place to learn the game and enjoy it the most
- By default the experience rate is x5. You will gain more experience than usual, which means you will skip some game content also. BUT if you don't want to you can change it

About resources, just google the thing you want to learn and aim for wowhead links. They are the "wikipedia" of the wow. If you join some guild you can ask any time your guildies. Most of the time they will help <3

Like uzeng mentioned above, x5 is faster leveling experience but you might missed some contents. but 1x is very2 long journey as wow supposed to be played years. x5 and x7 cut that much shorter.

also for new player to level and getting gold, you might also refer to my similar reply to sotann below. you might find the macro useful in early level.
