Wish the server wasn't so discriminatory against non-resto Shamans.
Elemental Shamans I can understand, they're not only middling DPS at best but they're also extremely boring, basically just spam Lightning Bolt the entire fight. It's a brainless spec.
But Enhancement Shamans don't get enough respect considering the kind of numbers a good one can put out. Yes it's a difficult spec, it has a complicated rotation and a lot of priorities to keep track off, pretty much mandatory to have Engineering to fill in the cooldown gaps with grenades or Pyro Rocket, but it's so much fun to play because of how complicated it is, and thus feels much more rewarding when you perform well with it, because you had to work much harder to get the kind of numbers it is capable of. I've seen really good ones be able to match DPS with Boomies, Combat Rogues and MM Hunters, so I know they're capable of big numbers.
Just kind of sickening how most people expect you to play Resto or don't play Shaman at all. Elemental I get the discrimination, but Enhancement is much stronger than people give it credit for.
Why bring an Enhance Shaman when you can bring a Resto Shaman?
Likewise, why bring a terrible melee DPS when you can bring a Fury Warrior, Rogue, DK etc - all MUCH better, more utility options than Enhance Shaman.
That's exactly the kind of attitude I'm talking about, completely shunning certain classes/specs because they cannot put out the same numbers on paper as other classes/specs. That's very elitist, especially for a server like this.
It's also kind of wrong considering good Enhancement Shamans can put out A-Tier numbers on par with Boomies and MM Hunters, IF the class is played well.
But that's the thing - a good Enha Shaman can put out same numbers as an average Boomy or Hunt... you can find a lot of average Boomies and Hunts, there are very few good Enha Shamans, so why bother taking them.
Besides, as long as you are in a decent guild and prove you can play any class/spec effectively, it doesn't really matter what you play in PvE. Pugs are a different story, they just want to take the meta specs because they're meta for a reason - and provide a higher chance of a successful raid.
