I've upgraded my profession to 300 and have a 60 character level, but I can't take a task from the NPC. What could be the problem?

Have you done The Art of the Armorsmith? You can only do one or the other, and if you have already learnt one, you have to unlearn it.

No, I didn't do this quest. I just don't have it.

If you accidently started a specialization quest ( armorsmith/weaponsmith), even if you just accepted and turned in the starter quest, you have to unlearn it and start over OR finish the quest chain and use the book in tanaris to unlearn it.
