Wondering what to roll and if I should roll on Lordaeron
Hi all.
I have 4 80s on Icecrown (Hunter 6.2, Disc Priest 6.2, Prot Paladin 5.5 and a mage 4.4, currently not going on many HCs). I want to roll on Lordaeron and I will be alliance (since i'm currently on the horde side and want to experience the questing etc) and my mains are Hunter (know most of the mechanics, atleast in ICC.) and Disc priest.
I've started tanking recently and I'm a total newb there, however I managed to clear ICC 10 (Including solo tanking with good callouts and instructions) and RS 25 but I feel a lot of pressure while doing it for some reason.
After all this text, my dillema is if Lordaeron is friendly towards newbs and if I should roll prot pally with holy off spec (never healed as paladin) or Bear tank with resto off spec (I think most raids dont take them though and the situation is the same as with the paladin), or if I should go safe and go hunter or disc priest again. Are there too many hunters here? What about disc priests? Do people hate prot pallys? Are tank druids viable? Or should I roll hunter/priestt and then maybe go for DK tank alt? Bear in mind that I play quite casually as well. I'm confused.
Lordaeron won't be any utopia, perhaps a degree nicer than Icecrown.
Best would be to start with spec/role you're comfortable with. With casualness in mind, I'd probably consider DPS/healer over a tank, at least until you get proper comprehension of subtle differences of raid tactics between the raids.
Paladin tanks aren't hated. Druid tanks are better than Warrior tanks, but falls behind Paladin/DK tanks quite a bit. I mean, that's if you care a bout meta and want more secure raid slots.
Hello,
just to draw a picture about the move you are thinking to do.
This server is pushing people who love to raid to make a HUGE numbers.
Tank needs to survive impossible, Healer is keeping alive also ******s who staying in a wrong places and DPS chars... they need to push themselves too, otherwise you meet enrage everywhere.
Dont think you gear yourself in TOGC before you enter ICC. Not possible as TOGC is made for ICC gear 6k+.
Once you start in Lordaeron, never argue in a raid once you screw up anything like... I know all the tactics/mechanics from Icecrown.
Believe me or not, but HC ICC in Icecrown is still much easier, than normal on Lordaeron.
Mechanics which you are skipping in Icecrown are killing you on Lordaeron.
Mechanics which you pay attention in Icecrown are wiping your group on Lordaeron.
The tactic is quite different than standard on any WOTLK server as Lordaeron has everything enhanced.
My advice:
Be patient, start with a DPS spec (easier to get any gear) and don't play hunter as there is a big BIG responsibility...
Less responsibility classes:
Warrior
Mage
Rogue
Big responsibility:
re3
pPala
Druids
rSham
BIG BIG responsibility:
hPala - If you stop healing for 1s, someone die + Raid Def CDs EVERYWHERE
Hunter
1) Marrowgar = CORRECT bouncing, not just a bouncing + MAKING NUMBERS
2) Lady = taunt enhanced add if changed to a big zombie + MAKING NUMBERS
4) DBS = slow traps, cross dmg Beast + MAKING NUMBERS
Upper: get rid of valkyres + bringing/pulling trash from Blood Quarter
5) Fester = MAKING NUMBERS
6) Rotface = MAKING NUMBERS
7) Prof = MAKING NUMBERS
8) BPC = Correct MD, Kinetics (pet management)
9) BQL = Correct MD, MAKING NUMBERS
10) Valli = Zombie management + MAKING NUMBERS
11) Sindy = not to stack much + MAKING NUMBERS (it means here to be number 1)
12) LK = Correct MD (phase 1, between phases parts), removing enrage from Shamblings + MAKING NUMBERS
BDK (mostly MT so once you wont use your def CD in time, usually u die and then your group)
Good luck anyway and if you find me toxic ingame (nick Fofr), just write me that you were expecting that as I am the aS_ hole who commented your new life chapter :-).
As a player who MT and OT 12hc ICC I can confirm this is all true and accurate and not flaming or toxic at all. It might seem intimidating, but if you like challenge and can find people you really like playing with it can be very rewarding to win through those challenges. If you did decide to play on Lord send Redlof or Druqks an in-game mail if you need help or advice.
