To General Grimsteel,

Report on the Assault on the Dragonmaw Encampment in Wetlands

We, Movrak and Thorgrim, Stoneguards in the Khaz Modan Infantry, humbly submit this report detailing our recent assault on the Dragonmaw encampment in the Wetlands.

Our mission was to eliminate the threat posed by the Dragonmaw orcs, but what we discovered within their encampment has grave implications for our future endeavors.

I. The Assault:

Under the cover of darkness, our forces launched a coordinated assault on the Dragonmaw encampment.

Our initial attack was swift and efficient, and we managed to breach their defenses with no casualties.

II. Dark Magic and Shamans:

As we pushed deeper into the encampment, we encountered an unsettling development. The Dragonmaw orcs have learned to wield dark magic, and they were joined by powerful shamans who invoked this power to devastating effect.

III. Nek'Rosh's Resurrection:

The most shocking revelation of the assault was the discovery that the orc leader, Nek'Rosh, believed to be dead, is, in fact, very much alive. It was the Dragonmaw shamans who, through their dark magic, brought him back from the dead. This turn of events caught us completely off guard, and it became evident that our intelligence had failed us.

IV. Recommendations:

In light of these developments, we recommend the following actions for future incursions against the Dragonmaws :

Paladin Training: To counter the dark magic employed by the Dragonmaw shamans, we urgently need to increase the number of paladins within our ranks. Paladins possess the ability to harness the power of the Light, which is effective against dark magic. Training more paladins should be a top priority.

Improved Intelligence: Our intelligence gathering and assessment processes must be reevaluated and improved. We cannot afford to underestimate our enemies or be caught unaware of their capabilities again. Thorough reconnaissance and reliable informants are essential.

Cooperation with other dwarven clans: We should consider seeking assistance from other dwarven clans, such as the Wildhammers, who may possess knowledge and resources to help us combat the Dragonmaw orcs' dark magic more effectively.

In conclusion, the assault on the Dragonmaw encampment revealed a dangerous shift in the enemy's capabilities. The resurrection of Nek'Rosh and the use of dark magic by the Dragonmaw shamans have altered the dynamics of this conflict. We must adapt our strategies and forces accordingly to ensure our success in future engagements.

Respectfully submitted,
