1. Multiboxing in highly contested farming areas

Hello, as many of you know, multiboxing is allowed on this server (with both its ups and downs), I'm not here to talk about it, nor is this a typical QQ about mboxing. But I think its an issue that has to be addressed.

One of the most contested farming spots during the whole of TBC is the Elemental Plateau, home to different types of elementals and prime spot for primal mote farming.

While this place is naturally contested, there have been quite a few scenarios lately in which multiboxing has been used to harm the farming experience for other players.

I.e: Last night, a multiboxer druid on 2 separate factions at the same time(5 horde druids and 5 ally druids) completely shut down the Fire/Air portion of the zone for hours to himself. How?

Well, he just insta tagged the mobs with moonfire, and would use his druids to kill any player of the opposite faction that would come near, effectively locking down the farming zone just for him.

Different parties of both Horde and Alliance players were formed to clear him out, there was not much to do since if one multiboxer faction got cleared, he would just do the same on his other chars until people got tired and left.

While I'm not advocating against Mboxing altogether, these kinds of practices should be reportable, since it just denies basic farming in the open world and abuses the faction system to avoid getting cleared.

  2. I suspect cross-faction collusion is bannable and I encourage you to submit a ticket with good evidence.

That shouldn't be possible, as the server makes checks for anyone connected with more than five accounts simultaneously. It would take two people working together. If it is just one person and you have some way to show that, that should be enough to get him in trouble for in some way avoiding the limitation in our rules.

  4. The issue here is that the only way to prove it was one person was through my own and other players conjectures by watching his movements.
For example: Horde druids would be on autopatrol and insta attack any player that came near, almost in bot-like behavior, and return to the same patrol pattern afterwards.
Also, the Ally Druids were in a guild called "Mafia de Nagrand" and the Horde druids were in a guild called "Nagrand Mafiosos" or something like that. So at the very least there is colluding in the midst.
I'll try to get some video evidence to report in the future if I see it again. Thank you for answering regardless.

Unless they've changed it, the check that is made makes your characters die if you have more than five characters close together. As long as they are reasonably separated, your characters don't die. It works like that to allow players to move their characters to raids where multiboxing is not capped to 5 players.

Didn't know they had changed that, it's not how it worked at first. Even when people asked how to multibox raids, the answer was to do it five at a time, since the check wasn't done inside instances. It should be easier to check if it's the same person abusing it by just being a ways apart, then.

Yes, that's what I meant, you have to keep the groups of five separated, because if you get one close to the other the characters start dying. In the case discussed in this thread, since both groups of characters are in different factions and therefore not following each other, the groups may not be close enough to one another to trigger the multiboxing limit.

  8. it is 2 ppl working together, not solo player

Another way to prove it is to actually record video proof.
