WotLK How can a beginner start going on raids?

Hello everyone.

I would like to learn about how to start going on raids. At the moment, I have an ADK with 4.2 gs, and looking at the chat, I see only the same ICC/TOGC 5.4+ gs. So, my question is, how do I fill these 5.4 gs? Play 24 on 7 LK Heroic and farm gold while buying things on the market?

I'm asking these questions because I have little experience in 3.3.5.

What you need are two things, appropriate gear and appropriate knowledge.

You aim for something like T9 set + offset parts of similar ilvl. This means a lot of grinding dungeons. FOS/POS/HOR grinding for offset items. RDF grinding for EOT to buy set and missing parts you could not get in FOS/POS/HOR. You can also downgrade emblems to get items.

- This is how far the "solo" game goes, at this point players feel like it's "dead end", no one wants them, there is no way to progress apart from spending a lot of gold to buy BOE and such.

Don't despair, it's how it's intended to be. Next step is to learn things. You exit the game and read guides here on forums. Your class, boss mechanics, boss tactics. This is crucial step to progress, there are far too many players who play for years and never understand their class, have no clue about what to do in their role or how to properly build their character, waiting for some "magical moment" to understand everything(it never comes).

Now, you have enough gear, your character is built properly, you know your rotation and what/when your class spells you should use. You know what bosses will do and how to deal with it. All that is left is to join raids and farm gear. However, half of the payers in every pug did not do this and it will not go particularly great. Solution to that is joining guild you choose, where every member did the same as you and is ready for it.

I'm not sure what you mean by ADK, but you also need a spec that is necessary in raids. That means, cookie cutter-copy-pasta build, playing some offbrand blood dk dps or something - it's just asking for a thorny path.
