I was in a dungeon as fury warrior. Thrown weapon dropped. I rolled and the hunter. Hunter won it. Me and one of the guys in group, agreed lately that the hunter should trade the Thrown weapon. I asked him ,he never traded or answer. I reported him but the GM told me that the Hunters can "definitely" use Thrown weapon. Same as penguin called a bird but cant fly, hunters using Thrown weapon couldn't using most of their abilities and talents, that based on "shooting" not "throwing" their spells. Got the same answer twice, GMs totally don't understand why am I reporting and what's the problem. Its unbelievable that we have to argue about Hunters wearing Thrown weapon, its an absurd. https://imgur.com/a/6Pui9Pf
"Thrown weapons made use of the [Throw] ability which is known by all rogues, warriors, and hunters."
They only lost the ability to equip thrown weapons in Cataclysm. So you might not like the facts, but the GMs seem to know the game better than you. Whether it's a good build choice for them or not is irrelevant.
Thrown weapons are useless to hunters. Letting them take thrown weapons is akin to letting a fury war take a spell power plate chest. Sure he can equip it, but...
That's a distinction without a difference. You don't let warriors take spell power gear because 1) it's useless to them and 2) they are taking it from holy paladins. The same principle applies here. That hunter won't use that thrown weapon, he'll vendor it, depriving other classes than can use it from improving their gear in the process.
The same way a Paladin can take the spell power gear and sell it, because they have something better stored or whatever other reason.
At the end of the day, thrown weapons is a weapon choice available for Hunters, and no whataboutism will change that.
