Warning to Multiboxers: False Bans on Warmane for Botting
Just a heads-up to anyone multiboxing on Warmane—be really careful when running dungeons. It seems like a lot of players are getting falsely banned for "botting" just for playing normally.
From what I’ve gathered, GMs apparently teleport you about 30 yards away from your current location as a test to see if you’re a bot. The problem is, it just feels like a lag spike or a brief warp back, so there’s no clear way to respond to it. I just kept going after getting teleported—and that got me banned.
I also spoke with another multiboxer who got banned the exact same way. It seems like this is happening to multiple people, which makes it even more concerning.
If you multibox and run dungeons, you might be at risk. I’m not sure what the best way to react to a teleport is, but this system seems flawed. If anyone has more info on how to avoid these false bans, feel free to share. Just wanted to put this out there so others don’t get caught off guard. Hopefully, Warmane can improve its detection methods to prevent more unfair bans.
From what I understand, the teleport is a way for GMs to check if you're using botting software. If a bot is running a scripted path, it might not recognize the teleport and keep following its programmed route. A real player would notice the sudden movement and react accordingly.
The problem is, the teleport feels like a lag spike or minor desync, so if you don’t react in a specific way (which they don’t tell you), you can get flagged as a bot even if you’re just playing normally.
No, the bans aren't false. They are legitimate and confirmed so by the Head GM. We accept and allow the regular multiboxing, one key press equals something being done by one or more characters at the same time and so on, but there are people pushing beyond that with what's essentially botting. Those are the ones getting these bans. Stick to "vanilla" multiboxing and you will be fine.
