I've had an account since 2022 but didnt really actually play up until december last year. so far my experience has been ok at best. I've got a genuine question for you all though. What is with this servers excessive toxicity? I've encounted more toxic people on this server than anywhere else ive been. not to mention the insane gs requirements for everything you do. I love WOTLK which is why i play this server as for the people who play this server however, not so much of a fan.
It's online game with plenty of people with competitive spirit, it's bound to have some toxic players in it. You fight opposing faction for zones, resources or in BG's for victory. In PvE you're valued based on your performance, and there's always somebody who talks **** about players "beneath" them. Blame is always shifted away from those who actually cause them. Died while standing in AoE? Healer's fault. You got aggro because you popped all CD's on your 6.5K GS warrior when tank is 4K GS bear, bear's fault. Self-centric players are far and wide.
Find a guild that seems fun and all of a sudden that toxicity mostly goes away.
It's is quit popular server for no reason so more frequent you meet with toxic people. The human nature is as it is. Internet is for a while here so it is nothing new.
Side effect of a server that is very heavily progressed and has been around for a long time.
The players here are extremely over geared with multiple accounts full of BIS toons. They run pug heroics and farm LoD in guilds 7 days a week sometimes.
So when forming pug groups you'll have players leave constantly or leave after a single wipe or leave after the boss that drops the loot they want because there's no incentive to stay. You'll have players think they're way better than they are because they're in an environment where you can cheese mechanics with brute force. I think more than half the server at this point doesn't even know how to do Sindragosa phase 2 because they just burst it. These players will be condescending and belittle others sometimes. That isn't all players although there are a lot more bad eggs with these variables in play and it can weigh on a whole group when you have a couple players like that in a raid especially when it's the raid leader.
With that said though keep in mind that the opposite also exists. There are some really good quality veteran players who are kind and willing to help. They'll teach you about the game and be your friend. You just need to find those players and guilds and surround yourself with them.
