    Alterac Valley is unplayable

    I want to raise an issue that has made Alterac Valley, and to some extent other battlegrounds, incredibly frustrating to play lately.

    Joining AV right now is just awful. You enter the battleground only to get farmed nonstop by Horde players who completely ignore the actual objectives. There's no real strategy or intent to play the BG as it was designed—it's just a no brainer farm.

    The worst part is that AV is so damn long, so you either waste 30+ minutes getting farmed or leave early and get hit with a 15-minute deserter debuff—only to risk re-entering the exact same AV again. This makes the whole experience feel pointless and pushes players (myself included) to queue for specific battlegrounds just to avoid it, completely ruins the purpose of the 'Random Battleground' option.

    Please take a look at this. Whether it’s reducing AV’s duration, improving matchmaking, or adding a balancing mechanic that buffs the team losing the most reinforcements through deaths (rather than objectives)—something needs to change. What should be fun and dynamic PvP is currently a chore.

    At the risk of stating the obvious, you are getting farmed because you are worse. Be better than the enemy team and you will stop getting farmed.

    Strange, when I enter as horde player then we get camped by alliance... who to trust now?

    Log and queue both factions, /afk on the losing one, alt tab back to play the winning side?

    Edit: remember to pop heroism/bloodlust before afking out

    That's why it's best to faction change if you want to spam rbgs as if i get AV as alliance it's 90% 15 min deserter and some times you get same AV after those 15 min.

    On side note,most of horde bg heroes (mostly warriors and hpalas) sit on mount and not play at all so maybe a dedicated 5 man alliance premade can fix it .

    Technically it isn't against any rule and has always been a part of the game.

    Although there is a human behavior issue in this game closely related to the 5 monkeys experiment. Where traditions are formed and new players will fall in line with those traditions thinking that's the ideal way to play the game. Every new server you play on you'll notice will play battlegrounds differently, especially in AV.

    The tradition for Icecrown currently and for a long period of time has adopted intensive graveyard camping. You will get shamed for capping a graveyard flag. Which is interesting because the ideal way to play the game is simply rush the final boss and kill it since we're all over geared, but players here traditionally have been taught that it isn't possible. They will laugh at you for suggesting it.

    If you play Onyxia here they don't do this even when given the opportunity. They do shame for capping SH GY or IB GY because it extends the game. They run past players there to cap towers as fast as they can and focus very little on defending. Which gives horde a disadvantage because they have to travel more. But the monkeys don't understand this concept, they will tell you just to rush.

    So as far as resolving the issue it's definitely a player created problem. I've seen the tradition change over time like we have with the tactics in PvE raids, but for this Icecrown might be stuck in that rut forever.

    Yes the Alterac Blitz was a common thing you would see occasionally in retail even in earlier phases. The issue was always getting enough players to commit to it. But absolutely 30-40 players in this level of gear would melt the boss. Part of that was separating the generals from the boss which I think is actually easier here on Warmane, it might be bugged.

    Also, worth pointing out – if you die in AV and try to run back to your corpse, you literally get flagged as AFK before you even make it there. You don’t even get the chance to respawn before getting kicked. So the system basically favors the Horde team camping your arsehole, where everyone gets a turn to play King Arthur, trying to pull the sword from the stone.

    anything else that can happen in a bg. graveyard camping is so incredibly boring and brain damaging, no matter what side you are on

    We capped the GY, pushed into their base – and still ended up getting farmed by a multiboxer sitting on the whole team. Can’t move, can’t fight, can’t do anything. Just sit there and get farmed while the system rewards it.

    Same as AV. No actual PvP, no strategy, just a farm loop that makes you regret queuing in the first place.

    Seems like a skill issue to me; we've been telling you to NOT cap that graveyard....
