What will happen to Blackrock tbc characters?

What will happen to Blackrock characters when Onyxia progresses to wotlk? Will you still be able to play them and later on transfer them to the normal Blackrock season 8 realm?

Will the TBC characters be transfered to progressive Blackrock wotlk or wiped?
I put a lot of effort into my TBC characters and would like to keep their gear as a Tmog set when Blackrock TBC progresses to wotlk.
