What Quality of Life changes would you give Icecrown? A wishful thinking thread
No I'm not so ignorant as to think merely suggesting changes to an already working enviroment is going to be taken in with even the smalles consideration by the staff. But It doesn't hurt to dream a little.
Here are the changes that I, given the change would apply on the Icecrown server in particular:
1) A hard pvp/pve toggle function.
And I mean hard, as in you toggle pve, you CAN NOT attack nor be attacked by the enemy faction. Sure you can still be griefed by killing the npcs and what not, but at least you don't get a lvl 80 multiboxer with a lot of free time spamming a moonfire scrollwheel macro that targets you on frame 1 and you die before you even notice.
2) Shared Mounts
It is an official functionality already in wow, I'd like to see it here even if in a limited capacity. If you make a new toon on an account, you get all the mounts that are already learned based on your current riding level. If you have no riding you get no mounts, if you have only the 60% speed riding, you get access to all 60% mounts and so on.
3)More spaces to ignore people
I have reached cap. ignored several times, I would just like more.
4) Multi ID instance
I would like to be able to still join a raid that I have completed, even if I don't get anything, not even the gold the bosses drop. Sometimes you just need to log your healer but oh no, you already have an ID on that so your group has to look for one and it's a hastle and a pain in the butt.
5)More Cool Events
I played the tower defense and the battle royale, and sure they weren't perfect but they were fun as **** to me and I'd like to see more of that, more often. Don't even give out any rewards just have it there if you want to mess around for a little bit, make the difficulty scalable so you don't need a full raid to complete.
6) Prevent out of bounds AH/BANK killing
We've all felt the pain of going to the AH or the Bank and them not being there, it's not cute, it's not fun, quite the opposite. Specially if you do it from places where, unless you got the know how, you can't get to. Like people clipping through the wall above the Ogrimmar AH or the Stormwind Bank and camping the npcs there. Knock it off, no more, Insta kill if you drop down to that area.
7)An NPC that shows the Mount Lottery ingame.
^ this
8)The ability to transmog White items
^this There's a cool shovel that I'd like to have.
9)Mute opposite faction
I don't need to see them shouting random gibberish on yell chat, let me turn that off (If there is already a setting I do not know about it)
What are are of your wishful thinking ideas?
Please refrain from posting "Hurr Durr, They don't make changes like that" or "That's against the spirit of the game" I do not care.
1) means making the realm pve, which the staff doesn't want to consider currently.
3) is a client limitation, as far as I know. There is an addon called IgnoreMore which allows you to, well, ignore more people.
For 9) there also are addons that fix it.
"Hurr Durr" lmao. Purpose of IDs is so the player do not spend his life on World of Warcraft, and instead focus on others things. you know, like irl.
You can always create another account and another character so you can join again. That's what people have been doing the last 25 years

Purpose of IDs is so people can't get bis and stop logging in after one week. It's some sort of equaliser so people who don't want to play as much don't end up too much behind.
You clearly didn't read the point, what I was saying was that you could JOIN other IDs but not get loot on bosses you already killed. You wouldn't get any more loot a side from a slight increase since you could possibly kill more of them, instead of having an RO at PP like it's popular these days.
Reading, apparently is a tall task for some people.

You wouldn't get more loot, but you would get other people their loot. People who can clear the content would be able to carry - or sell - as many runs as they liked. A guild could get all their members fully geared in a few days, since they don't have to pick and organize who should get geared next week. Just do everyone.
Your suggestion would only be viable and not break gearing progression if absolutely no one got any loot if there was even a single repeat raider there.

Not a suggestion, just wishful thinking. Again this is just stuff that I WOULD ADD, if I COULD, nowhere near suggesting this should be an actual thing.
The only reason why I wrote that is because I like raiding, and I don't necesarily want to change toons every run, sometimes pressing fireball a lot of fun. Then again you might be right, but I reckon selling items for actual cash breaks gear progression anyways so it would only be a problem for the server owners.

My bad, I guess the fact you keep coming back to defend your "not-suggestions," despite saying initially that you didn't care about that, only for other people's wishuggestions lists, must have confused me. That, or my bull**** detector constantly ringing, either/or.

Not having any donations to cover the costs of the server, seeing as we don't charge a monthly fee like the regular game does, is what breaks gear progression. But hey, what's a wish list without deflection of factual criticism, am I right? And telling that your reaction at no point had anything to say alike "sure, no one getting any loot is fine."

Wich is a myth. In games where you can get BiS in a day, people don't just magically stop playing. instead, they farm the content, do pvp, make twinks whatever suit their minds.

If that was true Blizzard wouldn't have implemented the Chronoboon Displacer.
- The possibility to replace the original backbag.
- Zeppelins and boats to be faster, or always docked ready to be boarded. Talking to an NPC onboard teleports you to its destination's docked vessel.
- Cross-faction mail system.
The chronoboon displacer was made as a response to Tinyviolin's dispellin spree, with 25 multiboxed Priests cleaning whole raids in Black Rock Mountain, Admited by the devs.
I don't wanna make this thread a "ITEM STORE BAD" there are plenty of those and it's been done to death.
I see your "Nobody gets anything" and I agree, it shouldn't, it only makes sense. But I wouldn't make it so the RAID now doesn't drop anything anymore ever. I would have it be on a specific fight.
For example, you need a Resto Shaman for VDW HC, nobody has healer off spec and healing has been a little subpar. You log your Resto SHam with a previous ID Heal the boss and you get to move along with the raid. Nobody gets any items or emblems. Once the Resto Shaman leaves the raid, the trash and bosses go back to dropping items and marks. It's a good compromise.
And Of course I will defend my point of view, who wouldn't?
