1. Suggestion to get rid of tradescams

Hello, i got scammed today for the third time in a trade approx 10k gold each time :<.

I guess i just trust people to much sadly.. but this time it was from a lvl 80 rogue on icecrown and he was decently geared so i wasnt that concerned, but damn was i wrong.

Anyhow my suggestion is that if warmane can implement that they remove auctionhousecut and if you sell something on ah there is no waittimer to get your gold.

If they would implement these 2 changes i think tradescams would go away atleast 95%, what do you guys think?

  2. How exactly do you see either of those making it so people pay more attention to the trade window and don't get scammed with a quick swap of items with the same icon, confirming the exchange without double-checking? Both of the mechanics you want removed have nothing to do with trade between players and serve a purpose. Reducing how much players trade by themselves isn't "fixing" anything.

  3. You can use the Cash on Delivery (COD) option in the mailbox, just ask the seller to send the item through mail and set the amount of gold they want to receive.
or avoid rushing the trade. Wait at least 7–10 seconds before pressing the Trade button. Scammers often rely on players clicking too quickly, hoping they can swap the item at the last second using an exchange macro without you noticing.

  4. Wait at least 7–10 seconds before pressing the Trade button. Scammers often rely on players clicking too quickly, hoping they can swap the item at the last second using an exchange macro without you noticing.
Waiting doesn't change anything. If the item is changed, "at the last second" or whenever, the trade has to be confirmed again. What happens is that the item is changed to a different one with the same icon before the trade is confirmed by either side, and the one getting scammed doesn't double-check the item they are getting before hitting confirm themselves. All it takes to be safe is having one last look at what you will be receiving before confirming the trade.

  5. oh, then thats another case, i still prefer cash on delivery , i still believe that players use macro to exchange items and scam people and in COD you can check the item without fear of being changed after you check it or even be removed from the tab.

  6. This could be fixed the same way retail fixed it: by adding a countdown before you can accept. The "Trade" button is disabled and the countdown resets every time something is changed in the trade window. Changing something milliseconds before the other player accepts becomes impossible because you have to wait a few seconds before the "Trade" button is enabled. This could be done by injecting lua from the side of the server.

  7. i tried to make that as an addon for players to download, but it did not work maybe someone got a better shot than me
