Newbie Lordaeron tips

Hi!

Will be playing warmane -lordaeron next month with my brother when back from travels and just wanted any suggestions and tips. Such as faction balance of ally and horde and what has best community and basically what is best faction to play and why for this server. what is the pvp like and Q times, are the lvlving zones populated?
Is the server still vibrant?

Was going to roll an affliction warlock or fire mage. Tell me what you think of my possible experiences with these classes on this server

Any advice would be much appreciated as I am new to warmane and just wanted a good server for the wotlk experience.

Faction balance is around 50/50 Horde and Ally, but endgame more people play on the Horde side to do raids. The Pvp is cross-faction, so you will play with people from Icecrown and Blackrock realms, the queue times are shortended because of that, but there might be some gear imbalance if you are fresh lvl80. The leveling zones are pretty populated, but not crowded, it kind of depends on what time you are playing.

Endgame, you will probably get raid spots with mage more than affliction warlock, as most raids want demo locks instead.

Overall, Lordaeron provides really good wotlk content, so enjoy!
