WotLK Onyxia warlock

Hello people,
Its been some time i played WoW, saw Onyxia server concept and im thinking on giving a try, since never had opportunity on having progression based experience.

How is warlock stacking up with other clases in pve and pvp? not that its super important , but dont wanna rock bottom of the barrel just to end up not getting in to content.
Never played horde, so how is the balance between factions?

Regarding PvE, since Onyxia is currently in early WotLK content, Affliction Warlocks are great DPSers, they continue to do so until Ulduar for sure, but then become a bit worse from ToGC and towards the end of ICC. But still overall good DPS class throughout the expansion for sure. For PvE, the only other viable option is Demo, which is more of a support role. Decent DPS, but nothing crazy.

PvP, Destro is the way to go, pretty much throughout the expansion. Good survivability, burst etc. Might take some practice but it's definitely not the worst class to play.

Factions atm are pretty 50/50, so I suggest to go with whatever you want.

Pvp wise afflic and destruction are both top tier specs. Demon can be good in pvp, but dont expect to get rank 1 with it (maybe in 3v3 or 5v5 if the bracket is dead).

To the guy above me, afflic is arguably just as good as destruction in arena. In 2010 affliction comp actually beat destro comp in the Blizzcon Grand Finals to become the world champions albeit that was 3v3. Keeping in mind 2v2 is more popular on Warmane.

For Wpvp and Bgs all 3 specs are solid choices and can perform well.

Destro is the superior spec for all around 1v1 and has the capability to win versus any class/spec.

All in all warlock is one of the best classes for wotlk pvp.
