Hello, yes i can explain this,
The teams you faced have a MMR value (MatchMakingRating) around yours, so like 1.7 for what i can see.
But that doesn't mean that their Rating is around 1.7, they just created a new team starting at 0 Rating, so if they lose, they lose 0 rating, but you can still face them because they have around your Matchmaking Rating.
MatchMakingRating and Current Rating are 2 different things :)
Yes, to explain it more clearly:
Let’s say you are in a 2v2 team at 1800 rating with your teammate.
Suppose you disband the team and create a fresh one.
When you que in arena, Arena match making will still place you around 1800 rating because you have a high MMR.
You can’t see this MMR directly, but you can estimate it based on the rating you have.
The only way to lower your MMR is to lose many matches before disbanding the team.
You join arenas without gear for about 10–20 matches and lose all of them.
This way, you lower your MMR, and then you can create a team starting from 0 rating.
Can't you see your MMR in the armory? Also, dropping your MMR on purpose is against the rules.
