with onyxia going to wotlk now, do i need to replace my addons with all wotlk versions? before i was using a mix, some wotlk ones didnt work but the tbc versions did and vice versa.

Addons for WotLK client. Client is the same, and it's the client version that determines what addons you should use. As for why some didn't work for you, must be user error.
