1. (S5) No reason to play on Blackrock

    Hi,

I farmed BGs for 2 hours today, got 16k honor, tho lost most of the BGs.
Let's say I was unlucky and I can farm 12k honor / hour average.

The Hateful offsets overall costs 245k honor, so it takes 20 days to farm BGs 2 hours /day.
Savage set when it's added will cost 200k overall, so its 17 days.
Deadly offsets overall costs 300k --> 25 days.

62 days, net 124 hours on BGs.
    Is this a freakin joke?

Bought 1x Naxx25 trash loot box for 5k honor, got 1 useless item.
Do you expect us to buy Naxx25 Quarter box for 10k honor for 1 random item? That would be 2,5% of drop chance.
Even the box gives 4 items items it's still 10% drop chance.

How many days and hours we should farm BGs?
Freakin nonsense, I hope the guy will be fired who said ok for this.

If I play the same net 2 hours on Onyxia with:
    1 hour 3 WGs, 20-25k honor
    1 hour BGs, 12k honor.
3-4x more honor than the amount available on Blackrock.
    That's gg, right?

Not talking about players on Onyxia got full Savage set already and smashing on BGs, arenas...

The current state of realm is totally terrible and nonsense.

  2. It's always hilarious how people who get max level, free gear, professions, consumable, free this and that always seem to push all that aside as "doesn't matter" to claim Onyxia has it easier. Let's be frank: if Onyxia was easier, everyone would be playing that, especially those who are only interested in PvP. But we all know that's not true, despite all the advantages Blackrock already gets people just can't understand the concept that the one linked to Onyxia is meant to be a long investment and a grind, just like playing there, with the only change being that you do it exclusively with PvP. Feel free to prove me wrong by playing on "the totally non-terrible and sensical" Onyxia, though.

  3. I hope we do not need to argue that being forced to farm BGs for 1.5–2 months (or around 120 net hours) just for gear is not enjoyable for the majority of players.
People who log onto Blackrock are mostly there for the enjoyment of arenas and competitiveness.

I suggest you open the armory and check the gear differences between characters on the realms. Blackrock gear is very far behind in terms of competitiveness and gearing pace.

Anyway, consumables, enchants, and gems all cost honor. You cannot really craft any useful 75+ item, only enchants available by professions.

I hope you are getting my disappointment.
Me and my friend wanted to play arenas here since we love S5 - S6, but no way to grind BGs for months.

  4. just love to hear yourself talk eh?

  5. What's the rationale behind not implementing the lootbox system for battlegroup1/season 8 ?

  6. Not to mention that you are effectively stuck with ****ty crafted blue gear until like 1.8k rating which is pretty rough for most people.

  7. Gearing pace is terrible on Blackrock, it's a BG fest with many disadvantages compared to Onyxia:
    - No Wintergrasp
    - No Savage gladiator set

I think honor prices should be reconsidered, at least for PVP gear.

That's one mad take if I've ever seen one.
Only reason blackrock players don't play on Onyxia is because they cba leveling and having to raid, it has nothing to do with it being "harder" or not, Blackrock just allows PvP players to progress through... PvP.

Aside from the honor prices which are a bit high atm but that I don't find completely unreasonable, the real issue is the lootbox system. It's understandable you don't want players to get gear for free, but as it stands you're sinking hundreds of hours into lootboxes with a 1/6 on average chance to get an item matching your class, and maybe a 1/30 chance that item isn't completely useless in a PvP gear setup.
Or, alternatively, clear all 17 10 man raid bosses and 17 25 man raid bosses in ... let's say 4 hours if your guild is mediocre.
That's on average 120 items dropping per 4 hours, the odd of you winning one being quite high.

If you don't think Onyxia players will severely outgear anyone on Blackrock that isn't spending 8 hours daily in battlegrounds just by raiding 4 hours per week, then that just proves you did 0 maths when implementing this system I can only assume was meant to funnel players towards your cash shop.
Litteraly 0 reason to play Blackrock when you're ultra behind on gear and cannot do the one thing a pvp realm is all about, which is to target buy your gear for upgrades and minmax.

If even 10% of the population doesnt think this lootbox system isn't complete dog****, I'm willing to uninstall this game, that's how unpopular this system is. It litteraly does not respect players time and is straight out of a gacha, grinding for hours for a CHANCE to get an item you can actually equip. Actually maddening to read someone say this system is completely fair.

  9. the most fun fact bout onyxia BGing that there's no GM at all, so all ur bg-bot reports will never be answered (got 2 tickets for 2 days already, noone cares)
so ur pretty up to just bog on warmane seasonal got get ur gear i guess, since no WSG, no honor rates, but tons of bots

  10. What is the point in this loot box system if I have to buy every box from each raid instead of buying the boxes I need, like I have to get an extra 100k+ honor for items I don't need. I get you don't want blackrock players to be BIS after a few weeks but this is not the way to do it.

  11. Has there been any information post from staff explaining the reason for the lootbox system? I'm assuming it's to be more "fair" to Onyxia players after complaints about the system for Blackrock loot? I didn't play TBC so I'm not sure, but I can't find any post from staff explaining why this is the current system for getting raid gear on Blackrock.

My real question is if this system was implemented to be "fair" to Onyxia players, why wasn't this lootbox system implemented for Battlegroup 1/Season 8 Blackrock to be "fair" to Lordaeron and Icecrown players? I suppose the argument is that those servers are old and have tons of geared players already so there isn't a huge gear discrepancy.

The thing about that though is that there IS currently a huge gear gap between Onyxia players (access to Savage gear) and Blackrock players and that gap will only get bigger and bigger as it's impossible to get Savage set on Blackrock right now many classes are missing extremely important bonuses like Shaman +5 yard range to Wind Shear and Shock spells (Makes it 10x harder to win arenas without this bonus). This creates a massive disadvantage for Blackrock players which will stifle arena wins which are required to buy literally anything. Hateful items cost a considerable amount of arena points AND the rating requirement for these items is 1600+.

Right now you're forcing Blackrock players to get 1600+ and buy Hateful gloves in order to even be competitive with the mid to high skill level arena players on Onyxia. It's really a massive sadness not having access to Savage set on launch, or at least now a couple days after launch. At least add the gloves so people can get their class bonus. Lol. :D

The way people are getting honor now is completing the 3v3 quest for 15,000 honor, converting the honor into tokens and sending those in the mail to then create a new character to do the daily quest again and send more tokens. You could say this is stimulating 3v3 but people are just queueing with alt accounts vs themselves or their friends and leaving the games to get instant wins when matched up, it's the fastest way to get the MASSIVE amounts of honor required to buy items (and sink into the lootboxes for items that you don't even need -> in order to even be able to buy a lootbox for the part of the raid that has an item that you actually DO need)
^This is not healthy gameplay, nor is it fun to endlessly create new characters on different accounts to abuse the daily quest system.

Easy solutions to appease Blackrock playerbase without Onyxia playerbase crying (at least not too hard anyway)

    - Add Savage Gladiator set for the same honor cost as on Onyxia
-Add Emblem of Heroism vendor, 5,000 to 10,000 honor would be a reasonable price for the relics and 10,000 to 15,000 for weapons from there (this is the same cost as the dungeon weapons which are harder to get due to drop chance and daily heroic dungeon lockouts + sharing rolls with other players so honestly the emblem weapons should be cheaper than the dungeon weapons)
-Add a second 3v3 hour event like sundays so people are incentivized to continue queueing 3v3 after honor farm is completed

  12. I'm new to WoW arenas, and I don't have time to raid, so BlackRock seemed like the logical choice.

I didn't realize you'd have to fully enchant your gear before stepping foot in arenas, and the daily quests require wins.

There are so many roadblocks for new players with this system considering Onyxia players are outgearing BlackRock quickly. Why are there no daily quests for BGs considering Onyxia gets Wintergrasp?

Reading the post above mine about win trading with new accounts to mail honor is disgusting. What a terrible thing to incentivize.

What are we supposed to do with the useless items we get from these loot boxes anyways? We should be able to turn them in for 50% of the honor they cost.

I wouldn't really call it the same as wintrading as the entire idea behind wintrading is to increase your team rating and get access to higher tiers of items locked behind rating requirements, but it's still far from healthy gameplay

I like the idea of being able to refund useless items from lootbox for a portion of the honor points spent but I don't think there's any way to actually implement that in the game.

  14. I agree, this really needs to be looked into.

  15. I think the key system is bad ,
    1) I should be able to buy what quarter i want, beacuse if i need a loot form 1 quarter only its just a waste of honor, make a starting quest that you can chose what key you want to start with
2)In blackrock there is no wintergrasp so its less honor per day, i just played form 9:00 til l9:00 and fram 47k it means 10hours for not a single deadly item (waist/boots)
3)remove from loots box quest item they are useless in blackrock
4)Add savage gear and emblem items to the npc
