I wanted to get one name for myself and I see that person's last achievement was 9 years ago. You wanna tell me that, that person logged-in in 2025?
I really wanna know how this system works, when there are toons with name that probably logged-in god knows when and are not renamed....
Last achi - 9 years old and his gear is so trashy, I doubt he can even raid with such trash gear.
Another guy, last achi 4 years old - trash gear. Why are these people not renamed so we can take their name they are not even loggin-in with?
Neutron, Electron, look at the achis, when they were actually playing and doing something. This person is from the same guild, not logging-in / not playing. Last achi 9 years on Neutron, Last achi 4 years on Electron.. Why is it working like this?
Why is Mars unavailable when people are not using it? It's a planet.
Perfect, when we gonna get something that would force these people play regularly or lose the name, cause these people are not offering the name for coins via Warmane trade, they are not offering it for free or are not willing to do anything, they just claimed a name they are not even logging-in with, but only once a year so they won't be touched by the clean-up.
Why they cannot be reported, checked and manually flagged for a rename? You wanna tell me that if a person'd be playing this game regularly, that WITHIN 10 years, he would not achieve one single achievement? That's impossible.
Because we don't care if they are even holding the name just so no one else can have it.
They picked the name first, it's their until they are inactive for longer than the period we determined.
I understand that you and the team do not care, however players do care. In my opinion, what players think and what players want, matter. Players want to have some fairness, when some people are doing business with names on multiple discords including Iron Alliance's discord. Players care and players'd love to get some nicknames, which were taken just for no cause or those people are waiting for some business offer, which is against the rules and ToC.
If you can provide verifiable evidence that they trying to sell names, feel free to make a report.
Otherwise, appeals to emotion aren't going to change our stance.
I am not paid to bait people on Discord so they could reveal their name characters on Warmane, so in this I am not going to do that as it'd require hours and hours of typing with strangers. On the other hand, these players have been doing it on Discord servers for years and they rarely reveal their name, so it's not even worth it, without being GM, so I can .loo IP address that I could somehow get from that person's DC. If I created a link, he'd click, then it's easier for a GM to look it up and find accounts connected with IP address.
Perhaps, we need a poll so players could vote and you could decide whether it's a valid request or not. I am not saying I am the only one, cause I am not.
But we, the players feel like people have been claiming all well-known names, just to sell them or do some business with those names. Usually these people are those, who have multiple bis chars and they own one level 5 or level 55 or level 80 with achievements that dated 5-10 years ago so they are sure, they cannot lose it.
I just really want some names, and so do other people, that are no longer available, cause there was someone, who claimed nickname and whether made it to level 80 and never came back, or is deliberately logging-in every half year so he won't be affected.
Neutron, Electron...........Nickname: Endurance - this guy claimed this nickname by buying it from someone, cause a few weeks ago I wanted this nickname and it was claimed by someone else, whose account was active for many years, yet he sold the nickname to this new warrior, as u can see his achievements are freshly fresh. It's obvious that this guy had to buy it from someone.
In the end, I am not a GM, I am not a member of Staff and I have no power to do anything. It's up to you.
I already informed you of our stance, as well as how this sort of wall of text wasn't going to change it.
It's sorta implied, but neither will empty accusations throw at players holding names you want.

I understand the policy regarding name ownership and inactivity.
In my case, I had renamed my main character last week and temporarily placed my mains name on a level 1 character with the intention of transferring it to another character shortly after. Since this is a premium account and the character had just been created, I did not expect it to be affected by the recent cleanup, I assume this may have been due to not logging into the character after creation. Since the rules mention "not logged in since 2025" technically i never logged in with that toon, but it was created 1 week ago...
Following the cleanup, the name is now on a level 55 Death Knight with no gear equipped, and it looks like its just there as parking.
I have used this name consistently across my characters for years. I’m simply asking if this specific situation could be reviewed, given the timing and long-standing association of the name with my account, as all my characters using this name, i.e "name-druid", "name-pal" "name-priest", etc
Happened to me too. Characters that are created but never logged in may get the same date, 1.1.1970 as last played. Since 1970 was like 30 years ago, it very much meets the criteria of being inactive.

You'd have to ask that from Support.
But I wouldn't get my hopes up. No bug happened, the character technically never got logged in since creation, as you admit yourself, but the problem is someone already took it. That's what I believe is likely to get you a no.
