Hi,
my character "Curter" got flagged for name change (After having that name since 2015).
I usually don't mind those, but in that case I can't find any reason this name should be flagged - I literally got it from the built in name generator on the original WOTLK client.
Any idea why would I get flagged for name change with that name?
Isn't the cleanup in 2 days? I'm pretty sure I logged it up in the last few months, but wanted to make sure and found out I'm flagged.
Also, it didn't give me the "C_<Number>" name it gives to name wiped characters, it still shows me with the name "Curter" - and just triggers the flagged for rename prompt when I try to log in.
Also I want to add that:
1. Im still showing in the armory as Curter
2. It doesn't let me to rename back to that name - saying that name is unavailable.
Ah got the day of the clean up mixed up, you're right.
Only two possibilities I know of then, it's an offensive slang in some language and got reported for that or it's part of an updated retail list of blocked/reserved names.
Any way to find that list?
I was told it might have been duo to mass reports and I want to make sure it really is an issue with that name before I give up on the character name I had since 2015.
according to GPT it is not a known slang in any major language, which doesn't rule that option entirely but do lower the chances that was the reason. Also not a trademarked name by any big company.
Also, can't find any NPC with that name on wowhead retail.
You'd have to contact a GM with a ticket for any further clarification, but no, mass reporting has nothing to do with a name being removed. GMs would still check for the validity of any report.
Unfortunately we are unable to assist you with your issue as we do not provide support for such
cases.
Is this in other words "I have no idea"?
Just to clarify, in the ticket I didn't ask them to remove the rename flag, I just asked why it was flagged and added the information from my previous reply.
