Technical New here and having some issues. :(

Recently joined the lovely community here and I'm having some issues getting things started up.

1: None of my settings are staying saved. I get to the login screen and change the resolution to 3840x2160, window maximized, etc. Logged in, made a character, got in and tried to find out how to resize my cursor (more on that in a bit). Logged out and exited the game. Did some research and found a solution for the cursor thing, opened the game and all my settings had reset.

2: While in the game, it doesn't appear as though I can type in chat. I can see the chat scrolling, but nothing I type goes through.

3: On that note, I was trying to resize my cursor using /console cursorsizepreferred 2 and it does nothing. I'm guessing that has something to do with the chat thing.

Any help would be appreciated!

This might be another clue as to what the issue is (I still have no idea), but every time I open the game it plays the intro cinematic to WotLK. I've even tried running as Administrator, still resets everything every time I open the game.

Can you tell me what exactly you did do to enlarge the cursor?

Your problem most likely comes from the fact, that all your config files might be read only. change that by right clicking and remove it in the settings.

There's no cursorsizepreferred setting in wotlk.

Seems like classic readonly WoW folder (in case the OP didnt solve it in 3 weeks).
For mouse cursor mods I suggest _Cursor from Curserforge. I like it as it is visible even in aoe/effect heavy battles.
