1. Unplayable due to lag at peak hours (but no internet problems, WoW specific)

Hi Warmane. I've been sitting with this issue for about a week now. There is absolutely no problem with my internet. I even run "ping -t -ip_address-" while running the game to see my actual response time from the net to my PC. I check my internet speed on SpeedTest and completely normal. Its WoW specific guaranteed. I have tried playing with and without addons, this does nothing. The problem persists. I reinstalled the game client and every single addon and this did nothing. The problem still persists. I have run the game in administrator, the problem persists. I have run this game in compatibility mode, the problem persists. I have restarted my router, the problem persists. I have flushed my DNS cache, the problem persists. Can anyone please help me and give me a valid solution? I have been struggling and as you can tell, I have tried quite a few methods. It does feel slightly better during non-peak hours. I was able to play this morning when server was low pop.

When I say lag I mean 10k-20k ms. My game is literally unplayable its just not a bit of lag.

  2. It's a Warmane infrastructure issue. At some point they migrated away from the daily server reset which caused 2 minutes of hard lag per day, and instead the server seems to just have steady lag 24/7 now. They have either setup some kind of partitioned automated daily backup, or their physical hardware isn't meeting the server load requirements. It's definitely problematic and I hope it gets addressed.

  3. It's peak hour right now and there is little to no noticeable internal lag in Icecrown.

  4. It very much depends on where you are at as the route taken from your computer to Warmane's servers will vary at peak hours vs non-peak hours. I used to have pings of 300+ at peak hours as I am located somewhat far from Warmane's servers (which I assume are in France). This got much better after I used a paid VPN, my ping now hovers around 100.

  5. Do I need to activate a port through to my firewall? I have not tried this. Can someone please tell me how to do this.

  6. There is nothing you can do to fix this other than paying for a VPN (and I insist: paid VPNs, since free VPNs will get you banned)

  7. 1. first go ping 8.8.8.8
if no problem then your internet is fine, in general

    2. next ping logon.warmane.com
see if there is time out
if there are timeouts, there is likely problem in your provider (and partner) routing towards warmane's

    so yeah try using VPN

  8. after doing a ping, do a tracert to identify where the lag is actually coming from

  9. help i have 28498 ms need fix this sh***
