Technical Can I disable quest auto-accept?

I’ve recently returned to WoW after a long break and started a character on Lordaeron. I’m trying to make the leveling experience more immersive, so I’ve turned off quest objectives and focused on reading the quest text.

However, I ran into an issue right away: I created a gnome, spoke to the NPC who gives the first quest, clicked the quest, and it was automatically accepted without me confirming it. I’d prefer to be able to read the quest text first and then manually accept it afterward.

Is this how quests are supposed to work now, or is it specific to this server/addon? Is there any way to disable auto-accept so I always have to confirm quests manually, or is it a built-in behavior that can’t be changed?

Quests taken at the starting zone of each race are automatically accepted. This behaviour is blizzlike and can't be disabled.

You can always open your Questlog and read the text tho
