What do I need to know/have before becoming active in a guild or with others?
I'm brand new to the game, and I'm starting to get the hang of things. It's becoming apparent that playing with others would be a good idea under certain circumstances, but I also don't wanna be the one ***** dragging the team down if I don't know what I'm doing. Most of the people I see are level 70+ meta players, and while I'm level 18 and can handle most all 1v1 encounters in the early game areas, even getting 2-3 enemies attacking at once can kill me. Walking into later game areas or a PvP zone results in instant death.
I'm an undead warlock, and my current battle strategy is to have Demon Skin and a summoned Imp always active, cast Curse of Agony and Immolate if I think the fight is going to take a minute (most don't), tell my Imp to spam Firebolt, and then spam Shadow Bolt until it dies. It's mostly effective, but is this optimal if I'm playing with others? I don't want to be using a spectacularly suboptimal or off-meta strategy and drag the team down.
I've just started learning enchanting. What other profession should I pair it with? I'm leaning towards tailoring or engineering, and I think engineering would be better, but I don't know.
My gear sucks. The Demon Skin spell absolutely helps, but I suppose I'll find better armor as I do quests and my enchanting levels up. There still seems to be a meta around gear that I don't understand. Is there anything I need to look for?
I've already been recruited by a guild that's been aggressively recruiting in the Undercity area, and there are players of all levels in it, but I assume most or some already know the game's ins and outs, and I don't want to be a burden on the team. Is there anything else I should know or do before I try to start or join a party?
