1. Giving a toon away

You can sell toons on warmane, why can't I just give a friend my toon? Reason? I'm never going to play it, or the expansion again. Other reason? Warmane won't let me list it for a custom offer and make it cheap enough for him to buy it. Unless he donate like 300$ worth in coins. How is this realistic? I would like a proper reply full of an actual explanation regarding this. "You could be selling your toon"..... By giving it away, for free? When you could easily monitor characters given for free and put a 'Coin Tab' over their toon.

You have not given a single solid reason as to why we cannot give away toons or sell them for a custom price. I have toons that list for 500 coins, and are no where near BIS. You mean to tell me, I can't list my toon for under the cost it would take to BIS a toon, for a toon that's worth half that?

Fix this, Warmane. You're loaded, you can afford to allow the community to help one another out. After all, Www.Warmane.com wouldn't be worth nearly 300,000$ U.S. without your community. Why not idk, at least be fair? Find a middle ground here? With only equipped items, my toon sells for 500 coins. No one will buy that, ever. You basically slapped us in the face with this Character Selling feature.

  2. "Just delete gear" Yeah... Rephrasing that: "Just delete items you paid hundreds of dollars for, in order to make 1/3 of the amount, and that's legal, but no one will then buy it."

But wanting to put a custom price, and sell the toon for its actual worth dictated by the owner of the toon, isn't allowed.

When I buy a car, I don't ask the dealership how much I'm allowed to resell it for to my buddy down the street 30 years later.

  3. I love how every useless thread gets answered by a GM but serious threads that require you to use your head you just scroll by. Over 100 views and no response from a GM? This is a joke.

Can't wait for your "We're too busy with events and such to answer threads" ......... No. I thoroughly read the forums. I see you all active, I don't see any responses here.

Either this is deliberately being done, or none of you have any real answer. It's almost as if, no GM wants to comment with a disagreeing counter argument to this because they deep down want this to happen too. I feel your pain guys.

What if, Warmane is actually owned by Putin. Who made Warmane to spite the U.S.

  4. You can't give away your character because that would make it super easy to sell them for real money.
Secondly, the price. It's determined by the marketplace values so it closely resembles the prices of items there. All of the other stuff like mounts probably add up, so you end up with a high price. And you could've found out by yourself what i just wrote, since it was answered in other post like a 100 times.

  5. That isn't an issue. What stops people from selling / giving away their entire characters already? Nothing.

Back to topic. To remove that issue entirely, make the 'Give Toon Away' feature cost 50 coins to the player choosing to give away their toon.

    1) No one trying to make money off the game will spend 50-70$ to sell a toon illegally, which would require him or the other person going first in the transaction, and give a 50/50% chance of losing their toon, and money. If you know how illegal virtual item transactions work.

    2) If you then, know the mentality of people who farm games and try to sell the virtual items for money, do it to pay rent. Not defending them, I'm saying this as in, they don't have the extra money to fork over on a 50/50% chance.

    3) Even if people do attempt to sell their toons, this is beneficial to Warmane. The toons wouldn't be used either way, the people buying the toons could be doing so outside of Warmane because they can't donate on the donation page. That is actually a real issue, I know many that cannot donate. At least this way, Warmane would still make roughly 70$ off someone trying to sell their toon. Warmane could further this profit by getting volunteers to act as "Toon Buyers" which would scout within the realms and screw over people trying to sell their toon. Warmane makes money, persons toon gets banned. It's always a win win, if you look behind the scenes.

    4) People would use this feature. I would use this feature. I have spent over 200$ on mounts, cosmetics and useless goofball trinkets to use pretty much only when I idle anyway. The people with multiple toons that look at their alts sad knowing they spent years building these toons, only to see them sit there doing nothing forever after ---- Are the donors. I'm also a really small donor compared to half of the ones I know personally.

    5) Implement another requirement, have it so people receiving free toons must have certain goals met. This would eliminate new players trying to cash out on a BIS toon without putting in effort or much of a donation:

5a) Minimum of 5 years playing of being on Warmane.
5b) Minimum of a certain donation rank
5c) Minimum of a certain achievement score
    5d) ( ? )

    :)

  6. I would gladly be one of those volunteers too :D Only to spite people. Others would do it to brown nose and /kneel /chicken Warmane staff.

  7. The system just needs a flat 25% cut in how it calculates value of items, No this wont undervalue the marketplace value on items such as dbw or effect people buying those items for 1 simple reason, The people buying toons are the people that can already afford to full bis anything.
The mass majority of people buying those 1-3 items per month cant afford said big 1 off purchases = they keep buying from marketplace.
Another point, the people buying full bis toons if they think its a 'deal' to buy a full bis toon over buying each piece individually, you dont lose money cause they will buy MORE, like honestly Warmane think about it for like 5 solid min's and try tell me its a bad idea lol.

  8. This is a little off topic, I only added the selling feature to help people see the perspective. But, on that note -- To fix the Marketplace with Toon Selling, just allow people to 'Uncheck' boxes beside everything that they wish to delete/reset on their toon before selling. People that are Achievement Hunters, don't care for others Achievements. Such as:

    "Template"
*Choose which of the following you'd like to add/remove to the sale"
    [] Achievement Points
    [] Equipped Gear
    [] Full Inventory
    [] In-Game Currencies (Not Gold)
    [] Gold
    [] Mounts/Pets
    [] Professions

This would not only allow for more fair trading of toons, but would allow people to sell their toons for how they are built.

On topic: If a GM could thoroughly read this thread, and give honest input.

  9. 270 views, none from a GM. How odd is that?

  10. Never understood this. If you want to willingly give your character away to another player free of charge because you have no use for that character, why not let them.. is Warmane that much of a money whore?

  11. Why would you rob your friend of adventure to get stuff by himself(actually play the game)? Anyway, 99 out of 100 people would use such feature to steal/scam/profit on character trade.

Thing that bothers me - why are Achievements not reset on sold toons? ? ? I cant wrap my head around this.

  12. Because this expansion is over 7 years old and people want to experience endgame content as the majority have already leveled a number of toons on different servers and whatnot

  13. Character trading is a system designed for trading characters, not giving them away. As such, account sharing is not bannable but it is frowned upon and risks that you take are something you'll have to deal with at a later time if you ever want to return. We don't help with such cases, just saying ahead of the time.

This is why I like this guy. ^

Always gives great feedback. :) Understood for almost every point .. I was wondering, if you could take the points made by myself and another forum about the Character Selling feature .. It could be reworked and made to suit people a bit easier .. Thank you.
