1. Anyway, I read somewhere crit should effectively reduce glancing blow since both effects are 2 side of 1 coin. But All I can say is "molten hit table had little problems"... Ignore hit and expertise straight forward to crit :D
    Bullcrap.
Not going for hit is basically the worst thing you can do.
Yeah, glancings may occur, but a glancing still gives you Rage, and missed attacks won't.
You miss a white? You screw your rotation, lose a potential crit, a potential Wrecking proc, a potential Blood Frenzy proc, a potential Deep Wounds additional munching, all because you didn't go and obtained that pansy 8%.

Also, there's no way that given optimal conditions glancings could be kicked off the table. There's that 25% chance, there'll always be. And it sets the Crit chance cap too.

hmm, for the advance priorities, about the sudden death proc, i read up somewhere @ elitist's that using ms off cd is better than using execute( if sudden death procs) o.O they theorycrafted some stuff and then said that.

That is true, I should add that it depends on your current rage situation. If you have enough rage for 2 Executes + MS, SD should be used first. If you have, say, 40-odd rage, MS takes priority.

    24% ;)

And yes, in retail, there will always be a 24% chance of white attacks being glancing blows.

also, tanks will hate arms warriors, cuz they dish out way too much threat. If you don't have omen as an arms warrior and you are doing relatively high dps, you could pull boss aggro and affect the raid dynamics.

    Fury tps > arms tps.

While fury does have a threat reduction talent, that same talent gives a significant boost to our strength. Fury also does more dps than arms, and uses heroic strike significantly more too.

Tbh, if threat is an issue, it's most likely the tank's gear / rotation that is at fault, not the dps's. That's on single target, ofc. On trash pulls it's ridiculously easy to pull aggro with bladestorm. But then, that's trash, it hardly matters.

  8. Excellent Guide! Nothing to fix or add!

I was just in a mood to do one myself when I saw this one. I've always preferred Arms to Fury. The latter being just a keyboardsmasher and the 2nd best DPS class-spec combination as of 3.3.5 at the same time just gets me out of my skin (not that FFB Mages, the ones on 1st place, are much more complicated, duh).

For the part of Arms being an utility spec and us to be expecting not to top the meters - oh well, it's Molten - I shouldn't be topping 'em with a Demo Lock either, but... meh, I'm doing it :D

    peace^^ & 1ce again thx 4 the Guide!

How often are you getting stunned or charmed in PvE? Shouldn't be all that often. Now while you won't be stance dancing all that often either, it still has some merit to it. Stance dancing to pop recklessness, or intercept to gain that extra range in a mobile fight when charge is on CD. There's a few things that are fairly useful to swap stances into. Does that mean they are really necessary? Not quite, but they are far more useful than the stun + charm reduction, in my opinion.

  10. Just to let you folks know:

Due to, partially, a huge workload partially disinterest, and hugely the arrival of our daughter I have quit WoW, and so will not be updating or maintaining this guide.

If someone wants to take it over feel free to send me a PM and I'll ask a mod to transfer it to your name.

Peace guys & gals, it's been fun.

    Congrats Offbeat!

Good luck to you and your family in the years ahead and remember that like old furniture WoW can be dusted off and the fond memories relived from time to time - certainly it was/is in my experience.

    Be well :p

  12. ive been playing arms for a few days now, and all i can say is its a lot better than i thought
its not nearly as buff reliant as fury is, so 10m and 5m's are a cakewalk. i hated managing rage in 10m's with fury, and hated seeing the big dps drop from doing so

i havent been in icc yet, but im pretty sure ill match or beat fury on any add fight. my first voa25 i pulled 2k more with arms on tora than i did fury. havent had enough single target fights to say anything definite, but arms is real solid and deserves much more attention with fury as it is atm

  13. Could you fix the talent links? It opens a page which cannot be found

  14. I love going arms pve it's a nice change of pace from fury.

Unfortunately if you are pugging like I do you will run into a lot of people who don't know arms is perfectly viable.

I do tend to have threat issues also , battle and berserker stance are both supposed to have a passive -20% threat I wonder if that's working?

It just sucks having to cap hit as arms with not needing as much as fury.

  15. Well, having a passive ArP bonus is good anyway since hit "weights" less than ArP when it comes down to itemlevels and such.
