When I first started playing on retail during vanilla, and was around level 15 on my Druid I went to my first dungeon, The Deadmines. I did not know what abilities other classes had, and simply dps'd by spamming wrath repeatedly.
About 5 minutes in, the group leader told me that I was the healer, and asked why am I not healing. I responded that I'm full health and that the rest of the group should be able to keep themselves up.:o Needless to say I have not finished the dungeon with that group.
After that incident I learned what it meant to be a healer. A friend of mine that made me buy the game also told me that healers are very valuable, and are always welcome in groups.
Therefore I leveled to 60 as Resto, most of which included a lot of painfully slow solo-grind.:( Though it paid off by doing good in some dungeon and getting invited to one of the better raiding guilds on the server without an application.
I learned on my mistake in the TBC expansion and face-rolled through the levels as feral.:D
When i reached lvl 60 on my druid, i learned the spell Cyclone. After thinking about one or two hours, i concluded that the spell was completely useless and was a joke from Blizzard.... c'mon, why would you like to make an enemy immune to everything???
It happened about 6 months or so until someone explained me what Crowd Control is....
started to play wow on vanilla (dec.2004), after 1 year (did lvl 28 on my hunter dec.2004-nov.2005) i find out that i must get a pet.
nuf said how hard was to lvl and play without addons/guide sites like thottbot/wowhead.
in dec. 2005 i joinet "violent noise" best h.guild on defias brotherhood eu realm and i did a huge step in wow lore knowledge.
i miss the old day's sometime :D
In my last server before molten, after being a hunter for allmost 5 years trougth several exp. and servers, rolled a orc hunter, and wasted several hours arround TB looking for a mace trainer, and then tired of looking arround, ask in general why the fcking bugged mace trainer don??t want to train me. The second I??ve vent that silly estatement in general chat, suddenly remembered the cruel fact that Hunters can??t use maces... :D
The rain of wispers, and the embarrasement can??t be easily forgotten.
Salu2. & sorry for my weak english, its not my main language.
Long time ago during the age of burning crusade, I had a rogue with cloth gear.. with all that intellect and crap, all I think about was the stamina
then I start learning a "liitle", so I only use leather gear, but still has intellect / spirit in it, and I found out it was druid's gear, rofl totally :D
I used to follow hordes as ally and I didn't know I couldn't talk to them it had to be explained to me good times in vanilla :)
---------------------------------
When I used to play alliance in 2005 I never understood why the horde never spoke in english. I also tried to look in the chat options for "Orcish" instead of "common". So at that time I used to call the horde stupid because they didn't know english. "What language is that lolll?" Oh my god.
Before WoW (Vani) I played Lineage 2 which is a heavy mob grinding game with rare quests like kill 60 wolfs. So I grinded mobs in WoW as well all the way until I was able to grind in Tanaris where I was invited to party. I thought it was for making "trains" of mobs for aoe kills but they told me for quests. My face -> O.o
When I'm bored, I try learning new tricks on my flying /ground mounts. I've learnt quite a lot and even have a name for each one - I would say around 50 different tricks so far
