I once needed on an agility staff on my mage cause it had more weapon dps. I won the staff and got kicked from the raid (duh). Afterwards however people were whispering me calling me a ninja. Without know what the real meaning of ninja was, I replied with a 'Thanks!' cause let's be honest, ninjas are freaking badass.
Looking back now, I'm mortified I couldn't figure this out sooner.
In vanilla roughly '07 back when leveling was a hassle and took weeks/months of time, I leveled my warrior all the way to 60 using prot, while dual-wielding the fastest things i could find =x. And I don't mean I put a viable path into prot in case of tanking, I literally had 2/3 points in everything, just for the benefits.
In TBC, before I had time to figure out how the new tanking system worked with defense and "stamina gemming" and the like, I tried to tank a heroic with less hp than the dps, and the same defense/avoidance ratings. Thankfully, good guy healer swapped roles with me because he was raid geared and could solo blood furnace as a pally (OPOPOP).
Damn am I glad I know how to tank for reals now.
My friend made his first vanilla hunter of his survival because he couldn't keep agro on his pet, so he assumed melee was how you leveled a hunter.
My brother thought that anything that could use a shield could tank properly somehow, you just had to find out how. Still probably the only shaman in full stamina greens to tank scholomance.
back when i started playing wow in 2005, my first character was a priest and i figured that intellect improved my abilities sooo i created a rogue aaaand I kept stacking intellect on my rogue because i wanted my character to be smart, I was convinced that intellect improved all skills like stealth the same way it improved my priest's.
It's not even mine, but it makes me laugh everytime.
My ex used to keep on push the 1 button (autoattack) because he thought it'd make him attack faster and stronger.
When i started playing wow I thought: WoW I am good, this game is soo easy. You need no Skill whatsoever...... Then I noticed i had rolled a Paladin
If it is true then you win this thread!
I was reading about as much i was playing and leveled my first toon with a guide so I didn't have many starting issues, however when I started on molten I was like :O omfg everyones farmed ashes of alar :O omg I wana go farm.. i think i was 80 for about 2 months before I found out about the vote shop.
Also classic nubness last week saw me run at a priest hunter in AV, calmly set my focus, check my cds and then i suddenly had sting and dots on me and I am like wtf! I am a rogue! This cannot be! I was at least 20 yards from them! I am invisible... i am... mounted >_<
on an older server, i reported a mage on the forums for having Avenging Wrath on him.
took me a while to understand that he used Spellsteal lol
back in 2005 i leveled my first druid. I only made it to 37 level, cause i grinded all the time. And then friend told me that there is a talent tree and that i can take spells from spellbook to action bars. Yep. i was grinding with my spell book opened all the time, clicking all spells with my mouse and with no talents at all :)
First i made warior, i didnt know to repair items so i deleted them, and i played from like 5 or 10 lvl to 85 without items :D i ned weeks to kill 20lvl mobs with 80 lvl ... Good times, good
I use all sorts of them thingies that are supposed to fish for you but all they do is mine for stuff. And i'm not even a miner.
