YAY FATHER'S DAY
/happy
Gonna spend time with my father today.
jk got /shooed out of the room with an angry look
I don't know why you would even want to bother, to be honest. I bought my dad a card and a $20 Amazon gift card, and he can be happy with that. I'm just glad the he works today, meaning he'll be sleeping all day and leaves at 6:30 for work tonight.
My parents aren't just cold, they're ****ing cruel. What I had to eat yesterday was a pack of ramen noodles, meanwhile they get to stuff their faces. I grabbed one mini doughnut a few minutes ago to eat it, because I was super hungry. ONE. Response to it was "Oh I guess you can have one *glare*" - as if I never give them anything.
Well... I'll just leave it at "You already know what I think of your parents."
Lynea, I wouldn't call them "****ing cruel" if I were you.
Some children lack all three, and more.
If only you knew...
I practically lack them already. My 8-year-deceased grandfather means more to me than they do. I try my hardest to give a ****, because they're my parents. But most of the time, they make it really hard to do.
Sounds like a lot of typical teenage angst around here.
My parents are horrible because they don't spoil me.
Yeah, I'm not spoiled because my parents don't care to feed me or don't care to take me to a hospital when I'm in need of it. I mean, [sarcasm]HOW DARE THEY[/sarcasm].
Lyn, you don't seem to be malnourished, you don't seem to be sleeping in the rain outside the house. I don't say that your parents are the best and that you should be eating their crap, but put a little value in the things you have, rather than whining about the things you lack.
I manage to take care of myself in whatever ways I can manage or find. Trying to live on 1/4 of minimum wage is kinda difficult though.
My parents never talk to me, I never talk to them.
I give them money for rent, and I pay half of the electric bill. Both of these are on my own free will. I am not required to pay anything, as I'm still in school. I choose to pay.
I wish I did that. I can't afford to pay my parents rent or half the bills, but I honestly wish I could since they now think they have a say in my life.
They tell me what to do and what not to do like most parents but now they're telling me who I can and can't be friends with. They're also deciding my future for me and trying to force me to go to uni. My mum even told me how I should style my hair, I didn't listen. I'm grounded.
She also has access to my bank account. I've lost... about $197. I wonder where that went.
At least I have somewhere to stay even though my mum keeps threatening to call adoption centres, but whatever

It will get better when you turn 18. Your life will become your own and they can't access or decide anything for you. They also can't ground you anymore or w/e. Just gotta wait until you're 18 (in my country).

Here in 'Murrica, one can emancipate themselves from their parents if they can prove that they are responsible enough and can provide for themselves.
I live with my mom. Moving out in a few months D':
It's pretty easy for me. She asks me to do some work around the house and I do it, no problem. And she doesn't really bother me with anything. Ever since I was about 15, as long as I did well in school she didn't really care if I stayed up all night or whatever. :D
But how will you provide for yourself if you are <18?
By getting a job. In 'Murrica, you can get a driver's permit at 16, and at 16 you no longer qualify for child labor laws (which limit you to like 20hrs per week).
I had my first job at 17 and I was making ~$250 a week.

Huh. Well sadly it's different here. You can only get your license once you're 18 and it costs a crapton of money, not to mention how much money a car costs (gas prices too OP here).

Oh, I know driver's licenses cost an arm and a leg in Europe.
