Juridically, I suppose Zimmerman would be innocent, if he really did kill the guy in self-defense.

However, it's also possible that he went after him and attacked first, or somehow provoked him to attack him. Regardless, I see it as a really stupid thing to do, which is almost like looking for an excuse to kill someone in self-defense.

The state never had evidence to refute a claim of self defense but because of the media editing evidence to make it look like a racially motivated shooting, this lead to a lot of public outcries and pressure from black rights leaders, even President Obama spoke on the issue, they had to charge him.

  7. If you're 29 and a 17 year old beats the sh*t out of you with his bare hands so hard that you have to resort to firearms, you're really in no position to be a security guard.

I will surely be hated for life for what am I about to say, but I believe that Zimmerman is "innocent". As innocent as someone who shot another in form of self-defense. America's justice system is truly flawed to the core....

As for DamnOriginal's remark, fortunately your words weight nothing.

    Fried mushrooms?

I can't help but wonder what the outcome would've been without the firearm. I mean, what happened to batons or spray mace? Or a tazer, even?

I'm guessing he had none of those at his disposal?

"Neighborhood watches are not vigilante organizations. When suspecting criminal activities, members are encouraged to contact authorities and not to intervene."

Also, neighbor watches are not as equipped as a police officer. Most of them are volunteers too.

"Zimmerman then called the Sanford Police Department to report Martin's actions as suspicious, saying "This guy looks like he's up to no good, or he's on drugs or something. It's raining and he's just walking around, looking about" and "looking at all the houses"

So he did the right thing as a neighbor watch.

"While still on the phone with the police dispatcher, Zimmerman exited his vehicle, and after concluding his telephone call with police, was involved in a violent encounter with Martin. The encounter ended with Zimmerman fatally shooting Martin once in the heart at close range."

Now, I know this was a form of a crime, but the fact that Martin was shot ONCE at close range suggest that George did not go there with the intention to kill Martin. But the things escalated, Martin went out of control and attacked George who was not prepared and did not expect violence. The first thing he did was grab his gun and shot. Once! Not twice. Just once. Chances are he was more scared than Martin.

I'm still claiming that George was "innocent".

I imagine so, but he had a gun. He should've had one of those other items instead, honestly.

Yeah, he was defending himself. I get that. But he could've handled it in a much better manner than what he did. He should've stayed in the car and kept his eye on the guy, rather than getting out and trying to act like an officer.

Nothing wrong with getting out of your car.

The testimony from Rachel Jeantel and a timeline of 911 calls supports that for 4 minutes, Trayvon was far away from Zimmerman. Rachel testified that trayvon said he was, "by his dad's house".

We don't who started the fight but we know that Trayvon doubled back to confront him.

  14. I don't agree with how he's been released, as Grace said he could've done many other things and should never have had to be in the situation where he has to shoot him. He's a member of neighborhood watch, he should've contacted the authorities then left it at that.

Muricaa. But yeah I too think he's innocent, although the situation could've been avoided if he didn't make a stupid *** decision. Meh.

    I'm not sure i like Florida's stand-your-ground law though.
