Cataclysm Elemental or Warlock

Hi, Im planing to make my first Lock or ELE for stricted pvp. I actually play a feral druid but I want to use a caster since Im a bit bored of the melee for now. I Would like to know which class is better for pvp and why it is better than the other( Pros and Cons). Im waiting for ur help :) Peace

Both classes have their pro's and cons's, ill discuss the shaman firstly.

Pro's:
*High burst potential
*Can cast while moving
*Wears mail armor plus a shield, good for mitigating damage against melee classes.
*Can help with offhealing in arena.
*Good mobility

Con's:
*Has to cast almost every spell to get any sorts of damage out.
*Highly reliant on cds to land a kill in arena.
*Only cc on a 35 second cooldown.
*No defensive cooldowns other than a weak stoneclaw absorb.
*Prone to interupts.

Warlocks

Pro's:
*High spread damage via dots
*Argueably has the best cc in the game
*Can teleport out of many situations.
*Almost impossible to kill with a healer due to soul link plus demon armor.

Cons:
*No roots, hard to escape melee without peels
*Dots can be dispelled, although this is mitigated by the unstable affliction deterrent.
*Many classes can break fears with talents.
*Pets can be easily killed, resulting in a loss of survivability and damage.

Overall, i believe warlocks are a better and more sought after class, especially in threes. This does not mean ele is not fun however, and is an easily viable class in pvp, especially so in a spell cleave arena team.

Well thats means that I must choose the class depending in my playstyle. If I like to kite and have big burst, I shall go for shamy. If I want to dominate the fight until I go out of CDS I shall go for Lock.

In all honesty, I prefer playing a warlock. However, the only viable spec you can play it as in arenas and battlegrounds is affliction. Destro is a used to be burst spec, but is a now complete crap spec. If you want to roll destro, dont, roll a shaman instead.

On the case of shamans however, they have one of the highest, if not THE highest on demand burst. If done properly, they can easily global someone. My friend gets 40k crit lava bursts and 70k fulminations with all cds up on my 3.9k resil holy paladin. Once their mastery gets fixed as well they will be godlike.

Both specs are not working to the best of their ability... a warlock on molten will outdps a shman but is a lot harder to play. So roll a warlock
