1. Profit - A history

Well, after being playing WoW for over 9 years I know every guild has an expiration date, I just hope this isn't ours so here is our small story.
I don't really know the real origins of Profit, but when I joined it was a small friendly guild blooming in PvE and PvP at the start of Cata under the leadership of Clyde who had more alts than anyone I've known. We were happy doing 10 man raids on weekends when everyone was online since we didn't have much people in weekdays, usually even had to PuG dungeons hehe, still the few of us were close and (I like to think) good players. Then the day came when Molten announced 4.3 was coming out in about 4 months so they all decided to go play other things since there was nothing else we needed from 4.0.6. Some of them went to WotLK servers in the meantime, some went to retail and some I guess went on vacations and there I was alone with the occasional log from Ryuhi and Sokyun levelling the guild doing 25 daily quests daily for 4 months till it reached level 25. Everyone everywhere asked me why I stayed, why even bother and I always answered the same "They'll come back".
The day of the new expansion arrived and with it we did get some of the people back, but we were not longer enough online at the same time to raid as much as we wanted, we had scheduling problems and started trying to recruit more people, also our guild leadership switched to the hands of Skyan. Thanks to Dirka joining PuGs and showing them what was what and Sokyun being the most friendly mother****er in Elwynn Forest's history we got some new people and one day something that at the time seemed wonderful happened. Alliance Pride collapsed and decided to join us! I remember that day oh so many people joined, I got outranked by people I didn't yet know and matched in rank as well. That led to more and more people wanting to join, we finally made it to the big leagues! We started raiding so much we couldn't even find time to do so, raid upon raid upon raid and new people upon new people.
The day came when our leader decided for some reasons that he didn't have enough time to lead, so he passed on the leadership to one of our most veteran officers, Dirka. Dirka led us in his chill and no-stress style for a little till he decided it was time for the new people who were actually leading a lot to get the rank their responsibilities asked for, then a deal was made to share a Guild Master account between three people so everyone had an equal take of it.
The day came when the inevitable in life happened, 2 people didn't really get along. Unbelievable as it may sound this does happen now and then, and at the time each had a Guild Master at their side. The problem that might have been solved by ignoring each other (talking was attempted with no permanent results). After this one of the guild masters logged into that shared account and transferred the title to himself like a preemptive manoeuvre and as one game master almost never logged and the other decided not to talk about this, no one noticed that this has happened nor it was talked between the officers. We kept raiding a lot and even tho the environment wasn't as friendly as it used to be, nothing prepared us for what was going to happen.
About 10 hours ago there was a conversation between that guild master and some officers including one of the 3 shared ex guild masters in which they stated that they didn't like him and how he was managing things and they were going to form their own guild. While having this conversation, our now ex leader decided the profit (pun intended) from all our previous raid that was stored in the bank, plus the gold harvested by original profit + a friend of Sokyun who left wow and left his lifetime savings in our bank was his by right and took everything, sold it for coins and faction changed all his characters to Horde (Yes hordes, he is your problem now, not ours, good for me when I do BGs tho).
Today I get a call telling me all this **** happened while I slept and I log to this chaos and when confronted and requested to at least give 80% of the stuff he took since it didn't really belong to him, and the only people he was hurting was the people who raided with us and passed the items for bank in hope of getting them in the future using our loot system points, all he gave back was a Spire of Scarlet Pain and logged into our raid call to say "Haters gonna hate" before leaving for one last time.
As you might have noticed I only mentioned names relating to good things here so I would very much like not to be a flame war.

TL;DR: Profit will rise again <3

  2. Why move this here? It's a server story, not a recruitment >__<

  3. Feeling sad.

    Rise from the ashes Profit.

    - Cherrymuffin.

P.S. Fern u nab it was moved coz of that last line -.-
    Coming ingame.

  4. Interesting. So this is what happened to Profit.

This is why merging guilds is garbage.

Hopefully it will not crush your dreams of a good guild.

  5. This is why shared power is garbage.
    Fixed it for ya.

  6. Jesus christ, Fernlox can you write my school essays for me? I'm so lazy :D

Very well written Fern. I'm on the same page as you of wanting a guild to just have fun in by doing raids, bg's etc with friends as well as having the reputation of one of the best guilds out there. It's sad to see something like this happen but Profit will only move forward. I am proud to say i am a member of Profit and will remain one for a long time to come.

  8. I've seen similar things happen to guilds I've been part of in the past, and it really sucks. I hope you guys get back on your feet.

I remember old Profit guild i mean time when i played my warrior, you guys were perfect pve guild, and i respected every single member of ur guild,Flerp and u Fern expecialy, but today when i login with my priest i see alot of bad players in ur guild, when i say 'bad' i dont mean skill ect they are just bad, most of them are kids 10-18.my opinion is that u should never unite with alliance pride, couse most of those 'bad' players came from that guild
i know this is game, but it rly sucks when something like this happen(and GMs doesnt give ****),thats why those who sayd 'i will come in 4.3.4' never came back

  14. What. The. ****... I can't go to a 4 day vacation w/o having all this **** happen. You doomed me to Cloudy's storytelling skils T_T ! So..yea..we still rollin?
They blame you for taking a vacation. :x

Like you said fern, every guild has its exp. date. And like any product, usage after that date would only bring harm. Solution: buy/create/find a new product with a refreshed exp. date. Could just be the old core members under new and better leadership+management but new is always still better. And learn from what went wrong, crack it down.
